Ah! Thanks for that!@Terra Nova guy and @pkondz Tony's did get a new chef last year so that is why it is getting better reviews.
Maybe I won't be poisoned
after all!

I did a bit of research on the
best place to get some.
Dim sum.
Wanted some...
Dim sum.
I ordered some spring rolls
and some pot stickers.
And, I know they're overly filling
and therefore maybe not the best
use of your dim sum dollars,
but I like noodles... so I ordered
sum of those too
The server also put a plate of
beans on my table.
I assumed it was for show.
I cannot confirm that I sneered
at it and took a second helping
of sum noodles.
The latter is designed by
Frank Gehry. The same
architect who designed
the Disney Concert Hall
in Los Angeles.
Forbes magazine called it one of the world's
ten ugliest buildings.
It's been referred to as a "blob"
or even "The Hemorrhoids".
I found them fascinating.
Maybe I have a thing
for hemorrhoids?
Of course, being a tourist,
you have to go up the tower
don't you?
No. You don't.
I've done similar towers,
sometimes more than once
(because I've been with
someone who hasn't)
And, frankly... they're not
worth it to me.
YMMV.
What was I paying to see?
Seattle is home to the
Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit.
Melted glass is simultaneously
blown and poured from the top
of a stepladder to create these shapes.
This walkway's ceiling was reminiscent
of the one in the Bellagio.
Smaller, but still impressive.
The boats in the next photo
are life sized.
They are not small models
filled with Christmas ornaments.
Once out of the building,
you enter into a more
traditional garden...
Or at least it appears that
way at first glance,
until you realize that the
foliage is dotted with
glassworks.
And in case you thought
I wasn't paying attention
to the non-glass elements
of the garden...
Did you see it in this chapter?
Get some. Dim sum. For dum-dum.
Kind of hard to eat Chinese and not get noodles, isn't it?
Those beans can just sit there in the corner of the table and think about their actions.
I know I've said it before, but he's one of those artists I just don't "get".
I mean, everybody's got their thing.
I'll probably go up. We actually haven't done too many "towers", and the Space Needle is one of the more famous. I think the last time my kids were up that high was when we visited the Hancock Tower in Chicago, way back in 2011.
Cool! My wife has already told me she really wants to see this.
Wow. I would never have thought of that.
I love this one.
That's really cool. The colors are amazing.
Again, these really pop.
That's a neat idea!
Pshaw. I can see flowers anywhere.
Wow! Wonder how long it took to make that.
I was sure I was going to find him somewhere up on the Space Needle, building the Illudium Space Modulator. But instead, I guess he really liked that ceiling.
I walked in and...
Two good things...
1. It was busy.
2. There were people waiting.
The server also put a plate of
beans on my table.
I assumed it was for show.
No longer sashaying,
but rather ponderously
waddling, I sailed out
and on to my next destination.
I was sumwhat full.

And to give you a sense of scale,
here's a quick snap with some
people around it for comparison:
This walkway's ceiling was reminiscent
of the one in the Bellagio.
Smaller, but still impressive.
The next room was Chihuly's
Mille Fiori.
Or "Thousand Flowers".
His mother's flower garden
served as inspiration.
The boats in the next photo
are life sized.
They are not small models
filled with Christmas ornaments.
Or at least it appears that
way at first glance,

My attempt at being
artsy-fartsy...
I overheard someone else
mentioning the reflection
of the Space Needle
in one of the glass balls...
Did you see it in this chapter?
Beautiful picture
I think their cool and was glad to read on find out you liked them too.Forbes magazine called it one of the world's

OH MY GOD I'm in love with this display. I had no idea this museum existed. If I ever get to Seattle I will have to check it out.The next room was Chihuly's
Mille Fiori.
Or "Thousand Flowers".
Man, I've lurked while reading your trip reports for years. One drop (downpour) of Chihuly and I'm all "hey look at me, jumping out of the shadows to say awesome photos!".
I discovered Chihuly when he made those amazing trees for the White House in the 90s. In 2004 I saw his installation at the Tampa botanical gardens. That one included a ceiling, and I probably could have stayed in that room all day, settling into different pockets of color to see how they changed my mood. I also visited the show he did in Chicago, a year or so later. Every time he announces a new installation at a new botanical garden, I check the calendar to try and get there. Alas, those 2 are the only ones I've been able to see in person. But I'm definitely bumping Seattle to the top of the list now!
DH usually says if it's busy you'll get fresh food.
I was just thinking that the beans look real good. Next time save them for me.
Carbs will do that to you.
Definitely different looking. Doesn't mean that is bad.
My co-worker is going back in May. She's taking her husband for the first time so she will be doing this again. I think she is planning on getting the pass to do it all. I'll tell her the Chihuly Garden comes highly recommended.
Knew you would be doing this.
Wow, that is very impressive. Blue is my favorite color so I'm really liking this.
Beautiful!
So many pretty colors and shapes.
I just can't get over how varied all the pieces are.
It's like a search and find.
You did great! That was a good tip.
Yes I did. Didn't know her was a fan of Chihuly too
Night at the museum was the first thing I thought of with Mark's reply.
Sooo...you've been constipated so much...now it's hemorrhoids. Oy!!!
Beautiful picture
I think their cool and was glad to read on find out you liked them too.
OH MY GOD I'm in love with this display. I had no idea this museum existed. If I ever get to Seattle I will have to check it out.
Yes I know.
You were talking in your sleep
and the cameras picked that... uh..
Oh really! Huh!
What a coincidence!
That would be about the sum
of my dim sum.
I'll never tire of these... I want sum more!I was sumwhat full.
Forget Forbes - this building is awesome! And I'm glad the bus is right there... gives an idea about just how large the building is!
Makes you really appreciate a good sashay, huh?I bypassed the two aforementioned
attractions and one-legged hopped
over to this building.
I find the tiresum.
I'll never tire of these... I want sum more!
You are an evil woman!!
(But now I have more
reasons to come back. )
I'd like to too...
But that's harder for
me to plan than for you,
I'm guessing.
Most places recommended
a restaurant called
Harbor City.
I walked in and...
Two good things...
1. It was busy.
2. There were people waiting.
Soon after I was sat, I started
ordering items.
I ordered some spring rolls
and some pot stickers.
And, I know they're overly filling
and therefore maybe not the best
use of your dim sum dollars,
but I like noodles... so I ordered
sum of those too.
The server also put a plate of
beans on my table.
I assumed it was for show.
I parked my car and had to
decide on whether I should
give up an arm or a leg
for the privilege of using
a small rectangle of concrete.
It's been referred to as a "blob"
or even "The Hemorrhoids".
Or, for a cool $77 you could
visit every attraction on site,
which would include the
museum and Space Needle.
My attempt at being
artsy-fartsy...
I overheard someone else
mentioning the reflection
of the Space Needle
in one of the glass balls...
Good point.
It has to be...
unless it's a buffet, perhaps?
Sure!
Join me for sum Dim Sum?
Yes.
Aren't they wonderful?
It certainly does!
But... YMMV.
I love glass.
If you don't... maybe you
wouldn't enjoy it as much?
He tends to follow me around.
I'll never tire of these... I want sum more!
Forget Forbes - this building is awesome! And I'm glad the bus is right there... gives an idea about just how large the building is!

Loved our photo tour of the Chihuly place! I've been in awe of his work for many years, but never been out to see this place myself. Thank you!
I find the tiresum.
But
Sum people love puns, sum find them sumwhat meh.
Sumthing I've never understood is how sum folks can be so winsum sumtimes.
Sumwhere, sum how, we can continue this conversation...maybe in the summer.
Sum days I'm so overwhelmed, I must find sum different things to talk about, but sumtimes I just don't know when to quit.
I've been called that before. LOL!
might I suggest the maple bacon bar? Or the fruit loop one?
Only by a few thousand miles.
So funny I should see this post today! I took my son's Cub Scout pack on an overnight to the First Division of War Museum over the weekend (it was amazing! They have beautiful gardens to explore if you ever find yourself in Wheaton, IL!) and they watched this movie with their late night snack before bed. My son will not stop saying DUM DUM now!
