Can your employer tell you to remove...

Mods: (who I know are monitoring this thread by now,) I did not write that!!! . . .umm, BTW, since you're here, :rolleyes1 I heard that the Mods & the Tag Fairy like flowers & chocolate? :flower3: :flower3:

Sucking up to the mods is unbecoming. ;)

I know you didn't write that. DaParkers was messing around with your post and I hope s/he got what was coming for that from the mods. That's a really low game and certainly should be a violation of the ToS. makes one wonder about the poster and his/her netiquette.

Carly and Cool - if there is any ganging up here, it's by you two, not kbeverina.

Interestingly another controversial thread becomeing all about a passive aggressive, and sometime just plain aggressive, poster. Not the topic and not the OP.

You guys aren't tenacious, you are a couple of mad dogs.

Hang in there, CathrynRose, even some of us who don't get too involved are friends. :flower3:

oh.... and, um.... nerd face??? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thank you.

How in the world does it make any difference on the legal sense? As knowledgeable posters have tirelessly repeated over and over again - there is absolutely NO freedom of speech rights on private property. It doesn't matter what the bumper sticker says, it doesn't matter if it is cute, disrespectful, humorous, or nasty - the owner of the driveway has absolute rights to decide what is parked there or not.

Okay. :confused3 So hostile.

Good heavens. WTH is going ON around here??? :confused3

Freaking Twilight Zone. Unreal.

Okay. :confused3 So hostile.

:confused3 Hostile?

Just asking you to explain your position on how what the bumper sticker says is legally relevant in the face of so many posts that disagree with that position.

Or are people who disagree with you automatically hostile?

Your right. What IS going on here?

Reason for not posting the infamous details of the bumper sticker: it doesn't matter what it says. I asked a question, I have received the answer and I agree, the boss does have the right to decide what is in his parking lot. Sorry if it really bothers you as to what it says.

I have considered replacing it with a new sticker which will state "Mickey Mouse for President 2008 - Tink VP"

Fact of the matter is, it doesn't matter if the bumper sticker said "My child is an honor roll student" - it matters to some people and could have an effect on the business.

Of course if you are that interested in what the bumper sticker says, I do accept bribes :rolleyes1

At no time did anyone suggest she was ganging up on anyone. She may or may not have thought someone said that (it's hard to tell), but nobody did. :)

This sentence makes no sense. If you are attempting to insult someone (and I'm not saying you are, it is just hard to tell), please rephrase it so we can understand it.
Not the topic and not the OP.
This doesn't help me understand the previous non-sentence. If you're trying to say that anyone made this thread into a thread picking on kbeverina, nobody did. It just didn't happen. I think kbev may have thought she was being picked on, but she wasn't.

But maybe you aren't trying to say that at all. I just can't tell.

You guys aren't tenacious, you are a couple of mad dogs.
Finally a sentence that makes sense. And, I may add, almost as good at the name-calling as CathrynRose. Not quite as good, but you're almost there. :)

It was perplexing and annoying, but not bothersome.

I don't think anyone even cares what the bumper sticker says any longer. Take it to your grave. :)

Best of luck with your work situation.

It's not so hard to figure out what kbev(whatever - sorry, I forgot the whole username) is trying to get across.

Their point is that for every person who agrees with you, more than likely, there is another person who disagrees with you. That is the way the world works. Is that a correct statement?

By claiming the "gang mentality" when people disagree with you, you are making it seem as though anyone who disagrees is ganging up on you, which isn't necessarily the case.

You have a right to your opinion, tell us what it is. But others who disagree have the same exact right, so they should be allowed to tell us what it is also. Correct?

By pulling out the "gang mentality" card before anything has even been said, you let it be well known that if people disagree with you, they will be ganging up on you, or bullying you, which isn't the case.

A discussion is two or more people giving their own views and experiences. Those views and experiences may differ. If our feelings were the same on everything, there would be nothing to discuss.

People are allowed to disagree. With you. With me. And that's fine, it makes the world go around. But don't throw out the "bully" card because you think someone is going to disagree.

As for the OP, you are correct, the bumper sticker saying has no relevance legally. But, curiosity did kill the cat. Consider us the cats. What type of bribes would you be interested in?

Amen! Let sleeping (mad) dogs lie. :thumbsup2

There is nothing "illegal" about an employer expressing a preference for a certain environment to be created in and around the place of employment. That can include social memberships, dress, or extend to vehicles. In order for something like this to be termed illegal, you would have to take the issue to court and get a decision that would set out terms for future illegality. I doubt if you'd want or could afford to do something like that in today's economic climate. Step back and think about this: do you really want to risk your employment over such a simple request? vote however you want, but please respect that the employer does need a certain environment for his organization to flourish (and in turn you win as well).:surfweb:

I believe the boss could tell you that you cannot park on company property while displaying the bumper sticker.

I would have an issue with the boss insisting that you remove it even if you park off property (should that occur). Then you're getting into the employer trying to exert what looks to me like too much control. But I don't know if that's actionable or anything.

Now - now - youre not too shabby yourself. Booger Eyes truly threw me for a loop!!! ;) :lmao:

Not here in the State Of Texas but where you are I am f
not sure. I know this because I a director at a clinic that has over 100 employees. We had someone that had a bumper sticker that had profanity and when we called our legal dept. they said " NOPE cant say a word"

Okay, can you at least tell us if it is an "official" bumper sticker of a some candidate or political party or an "unofficial" bumper sticker?
