I know you can walk to Epcot from BCVs; and I know there is a boat that will take you to MGM......but, is there a path you can follow and walk over to MGM from BCVs? How long of a walk would it be?
Thanks,
DJ

Yes you can walk there. It takes you behind the Boardwalk. It is a very nice walk along the canal that the boat takes you. We did it several times at Thanksgiving. The time is between 15-20 minutes. If a boat just left you will beat the next without any trouble.

Yes, you can walk from BCV t0 MGM (and back). I did it in November. Weather was lovely, and it was a nice, scenic stroll. Seems it took about 1/2 hour (remember, I strolled-took in the scenery). The walk back was about the same length of time, but even though I don't mind walking, usually, it got to be kind of a long walk after walking around the park.

Yes but it is a pretty long walk...I would guess the walk would be about 1 1/4 miles. Once you get out by the lake, there is a walkway around the lake in front of the Yacht Club. Go across the bridge and you will hook up with the BW walkway. It may even be quicker to go clockwise and walk across the Boardwalk itself to the walkway. Either way, the walk is probably a good 1 1/4 miles. Rich

The 1-1/4 mile estimate is just about right.

Quite awhile back I used my GPS to actually measure the walks around various places at WDW. The link below will take you to the report about the walk around the Epcot area resorts.

From there you can link to the other walks if you'd like: MGM to Boardwalk, Boardwalk to Epcot, etc.

Obviously I don't have a direct report from BWV to MGM but a little math showed it around 1.25 miles.

From the BCV's to MGM, the shortest walk would probably be: Exit the villas but do not go through the BC itself, but instead take the walkway that goes past the outside of the BC rooms on the Epcot side. This will bring you out very close to the bridge that goes toward the Boardwalk. Follow the path to BWV, walk toward the main entrance but then turn right and go through the tunnel toward the Luna park pool. Go past the pool on the left, toward the canal, then follow the path by the canal all the way to MGM.

If you want to take the longest 'stroll' possible, then exit BCV's and go through the BC to get to the walkway by the boat dock. Turn right and follow the path to the Swan and Dolphin hotels (do not cross the bridge back toward the BW). After passing the hotels the path goes along the canal until it reaches Buena Vista Drive. There take the path up to street level, cross the bridge, then take the path down again to the other side of the canal. You're now on the Boardwalk side of the canal. From there follow the path under the bridge to MGM studios.

The in-between walk would be the one Rich outlined: Go through the BC to the walkway by the docks, turn right, follow around until it connects to the BW, then follow the path next to the canal up to MGM.

We walked a few times from BCV to MGM during our Dec trip. Somehow for one reason or another we kept finding ourselves over at that park during closing. The line for the boat back and for the buses were out of control so we walked back at least 3 times, one time in the pouring rain. It was GREAT!! We had a nice pace, not too fast, not too slow, and it took about 15-20 minutes. At one point we left the studios when one group was getting on the boat, and we made it back before the boat caught up to us. If we would had waited, we would have been on the fifth or sixth boat load at least, so we really did save a ton of time. We found it preferable to walk in the rain rather than stand out in the rain with no cover (we only had ponchos, no umbrella) waiting for the boat. We really enjoy that walk, it is nice and quiet with the waterway right next to it.

The walk took us about 25 minutes - pushing a double stroller. Unencumbered and walking briskly you can probably do it in 20. To do it in 15 I'd bet you'd work up a sweat ;).

.... It's a much longer walk at the end of the day then at the beginning. How does Disney do that ?
