we are not staying on site and won't have a car. so i wanted to know if you can walk between the two

You would have to cross a very busy 8 lane street, and it's about a 1/3 of a mile from the actual entrance to TL to the street entrance, and then another 1/4 mile to DTD itself. Since TL and DTD are usually on the same bus route, I would just take one of the resort buses to one of the closer resorts and stay on it as it cycles around. I'd suggest the POP bus since it only has to make 1 stop at the resort. Keep in mind that although the walk isn't that far, there aren't any sidewalks, and there's no pedestrian crosswalk across Buena Vista Blvd. which is a very busy street.

There is a long twisting, one lane road leading into Typhoon Lagoon. I wouldn't think this would be safe to walk on. Also, you must cross an extremely busy highway, so I would say no, walking would not be a good idea.

You could take the SSR bus and then walk from there. There is a pathway around the lake from SSR, or a boat launch, but I am not sure how often that runs or when it starts during the day.

Make sure you ask before you stay on a bus. Most of the busses in Disney are not dedicated routes, they change destinations on every run according to demand. I would suggest going to one of the resorts closer to DTD to change busses or you could even take a taxi from TL.

When I was a CM at WDW, I walked from Typhoon Lagoon to DTD b/c the cast bus did not pick us up from TL unless we called them. It only took about 15 mins. and it was not that bad of a walk...Crossing that busy street seems scary but when the light turns red, it's not a big deal at all. I used to have to cross that street all the time to get to Casting or Team Disney. You shouldn't worry TOO much.

You can, I just don't know if i would suggest it.

There isn't a crosswalk, nor a sidewalk, or walking lane at TL, and there isn't a crosswalk across Lake Buena Vista Drive there. The closest one is over by Team Disney, which runs across to in front of Planet Hollywood.

Lake Buena Vista drive isn't all that bad to cross. I cross it about 5 days a week, and rarely wait for the crosswalk's walk symbol ( im bad... i know ). So it can be done - but do you really want to?

I would probably take the SSR bus to the resort, and then either take the bus to DTD or walk the path. Just to let you know, the path is pretty long and winding, it is not direct AT ALL. It will spit you out near the La Nouba theater on the West Side.

The bus from SSR to DTD is only a couple minute drive. You are pretty much there before you know it. The only problem is right now the SSR busses are few and far between.

You can hop on a bus at Downtown Disney to Typhoon Lagoon... most resort busses stop there on the way back to the home resort. I also wouldn't suggest walking, although it can be done... it is at your own risk.

Please don't use the SSR bus unless you are actually going to SSR. You are not being fair to the guests at SSR.

All of the buses go from DTD to TL and they will get back to DTD from TL after they go to the resort. Just check that they will go back to DTD before you get on the bus.

I was told that, at one time, at least one resort's bus went to TL before DD and at least one resort's bus went to DD before TL during all TL hours. If that is no longer the case, the advice of going to the nearest resort and transferring stands.

The TL/DD bus to a resort does not necessarily double back, it may go elsewhere. So you need to get out at the resort and look at the bus destination sign.
