Can you use your credits on check-in day?

We're planning a December trip. Considering the dining plan. Would be arriving around 4pm on a Sunday. Would we be able to use our dining plan CS or TS credits on check-in day or do we have to wait until the next day, after we have stayed one night?

You can begin to use your dining plan credits immediately. We just went to WDW and experienced the dining plan for the first time. We checked into AKL, but didn't get our room assignment. We did get our cards and had CS at Mara, and then went to a park for awhile before coming back to find our room ready in the afternoon. It was easy to keep up with our credits. The only advice I have is to always tell the waiter/waitress/counter person that you are on the plan FIRST.
