Can you use Tesco's clubcard vouchers to pay off Virgin flydrive? If so - how?

Hi

I have booked a flydrive through Virgin Holidays for next year.

Can Tesco clubcard vouchers be used to pay some of the balance?

I have never used the vouchers in this way before, what do I do? Do I redeem them every time I receive some - or do I save them up?

Thanks all for your help, can't believe I may have missed a trick !

I may be wrong but I think you can only use them towards the cost of a holiday package. I'm sure someone will be along soon who knows.

Hi,
I'm almost certain that you can't use them for a flydrive with Virgin. I think you can with Cosmos but apparently their prices are very high. I've used clubcard deals to pay for stuff and it's very straightforward. You have to have the converted deals in hand before you book. Everything you need to know (and more) can be found on paidtoshop.co.uk :goodvibes

I looked into it - albeit not in huge depth;) - and I understand that it has to be for a package including hotel. It also needs to be applied at the time of booking, not added afterwards.

I came to the conclusion that it wouldn't be worth it for us, as you can't use it in conjunction with an other discount (ie online booking or frequent virgin), so as we wouldn't have vouchers to cover the whole cost, the amount we would have had would really have been swallowed up by losing the booking discounts etc.

S0 we are planning to use our tesco vouchers for a UK holiday with perhaps park resorts or someone similar, just to have a 'free' holiday on our 'non florida' year.

Let me know if you do find a good way of using Tescos for Florida, as I am still saving mine in the hope of using them for something exciting like that!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I have used my Tesco vouchers for UK holidays for a long time. I'm off to Park Resorts this year and it cost me the grand total of £4.:thumbsup2

I think most people now use the Tesco deals for Airmiles, rather than towards a package as it is limited to: £700 per passenger of 2yrs and over for Virgin and £400 per passenger with Cosmos. Tesco had a double Airmiles promotion on recently for new Airmiles customers.

You can only save £700 per person now so by the time you've lost discounts and paid an inflated package price you are much better off booking DIY and saving the vouchers for something else. I've been looking at using ours for a cruise as there doesn't seem to be any limit on the amount you can use so possibly a free break there!

I've used Tesco Deals/Rewards vouchers for my three visits to Orlando. You are limited now as to how much you can use and they can't be used for flydrives just packages.
TBH there is not much point right now as there are much better deals out there than £700 per person off the brochure price, and that is assuming that you have that many Tesco vouchers as even folks who are expert collectors are finding it increasingly diificult to get enough for a holiday.
Maybe if there is another good Airmiles conversion rate you could change them up for Airmiles and get park tickets via Keith prowse or get car hire. As it is at the moment the conversion rate of CC vouchers to Airmiles makes it a poor deal.
I intend using my Tesco rewards for Barcelo Hotels next year - don't know if they have any in Florida? ;)

Hi, we have used Tesco vouchers to help pay for our trip this year. You have to have the Tesco vouchers converted to holiday vouchers before you book the trip and then you phone a specific Virgin line which gives you the price you have to pay. As someone said, there won't be any other discounts applied so you have to make sure that the amount of vouchers you have would be more than online discount etc.

Our trip for 2weeks this year in October for 2 adults and 2 children (6 and 3) was quoted as an original £3600 but with the £1500 vouchers I had, that means I ended up paying £2100 for us all :goodvibes

You can't use the vouchers towards a trip you have already booked though unfortunately. You need to have them with you at the time of booking to give in the numbers off the holiday vouchers. :sad1:

I'm always in awe of the people who have enough for a holiday!

I've converted some recently for days out at the zoo, wildlife park, lego discovery and eureka. Aswell as a meal at pizza express.

All these you get 4x the value of the voucher.

Plan is to use them for our summer days out so all our 'spare' cash can go towards the October holiday.

Kevin - as others have said they can only be used on a package holiday.

I think that if you are going out of your way to buy things that you really don't need just to get points then there isn't really much to be gained, but if you are just happily buying your regular shopping etc then it does work out to be a good deal.

For instance, DH and I use a Tesco credit card, we get a lot of points on all of our purchases and in 18 months or so we have collected £700 in vouchers, converted to £2800 in deals vouchers, Virgin holiday 17 nights in a villa £3400, so our holiday cost us £600! I don't think you can go wrong with that tbh!

The way things were going with DIY flight prices we would of been lucky to get one flight for our £600. We are seasoned DIYers and it is a bit of a pain not knowing where our villa will be. But honestly, I can deal with that! :goodvibes
