Can you use Emerald Aisle if not booked with club #?

I made a regular reservation for a mid size but haven't added my Emerald Club info because I'm not sure if we'll rent through National or Budget at this point. We get charged a no-show charge if we book with our Emerald Club #, right? Can we still use Emerald Aisle once we get there and just give them our regular reservation #?

There is no charge for no showing up for your National reservation. I wouldn't make a habit of it though.

The benefit of using Emerald Aisle is for Emerald Club members so I would assume (dangerous, I know) that your membership # would have to be associated with the reservation for you to be eligible. There' really no reason NOT to use your number with your reservation.

I believe there is a no show charge for certain types of vehicles - like convertibles. But if you have a regular intermediate Emerald Club reservation you should be OK. If you decide not to use it, call them when you are there.

I've also had a $50 no show statement in my print out for reserving a minivan on the Emerald Reserve. That is the only place I've seen it. Personally I would never do a no show to a reservation that has my cc. Last year I had a special rate with Alamo, but wasn't sure if they would honor it (full size passenger van for $99 glitch). I made a back up with Dollar for an hour later in case I got denied. After getting the van, I sat in the lobby of MCO with my netbook and cancelled my dollar reservation. This is not something I do on a regular basis, and while I knew I would not incurr a penalty as they did not have my cc, I thought it was the right thing to do. I would be too nervous to book EA (ExA) and not show up. I don't like surprises, when it comes to money. I wonder if there is anyone here that booked a reservation with National with their EA membership and did a no show. I would love to see a confirmation of not getting a charge applied.

Me. I had both a minivan rented for March and a reservation for Emerald Aisle. We ended up using the minivan reservation which made me a no show for the Emerald Aisle. I'd checked with National and had gotten an answer from them in writing about not getting charged for being a no show. I received no charge.

Thanks. Like I said, not something I would normally do, but always wondered what might happen. I know they always send us an email a few days before reminding us to cancel if we're not going to use it. I sort of remember your post and knew this was not the norm for you too. We get stuck with the needing a minivan every now and then. In January there were a few minivans (but didn't need one); then in March, again we saw a couple of minivans (and again didn't need one); but in April, we needed/or wanted one as we had family arriving for a few days later in the trip, and you know we didn't see one (on both sides). We did luck out with a Ford Explorer with a third row seat that worked for us, but a minivan would've given us a little more room for the stroller and luggage. We did OK and we'll be back again in September and don't need one, so you know we'll see them again on the Aisles.:lmao:

Any chance you'll be there in early December? That's when I next need a minivan! :lmao:

This time, we have 6 people and only 4 of us are going on to the port for a cruise at the end of the stay. For the first week, we have 6. Since I don't think any of the cars fit 6 people, I need a minivan. What I did was make two reservations since the minivans are SO expensive right now. I have an Emerald Aisle reservation in my name, hoping I can snag a minivan. If I can't, I also have a reservation in my FIL's name for a car. Renting a car for a week and 2 weeks of an Emerald Aisle deal was STILL cheaper than just 2 weeks of a minivan. If I get a Journey or an SUV instead of a minivan, that will work to get the 4 of us and our luggage to the Port. I'd just rather have the minivan so the 6 of us could ride together the first week.

If I get the minivan, I will cancel the reservation under my FIL's name. It's for about 6 hours after my Emerald Aisle reservation and I'll know then if we have the minivan or if we'll need to keep both reservations. I think Dec is such a slow time for Disney other than for DVC that there should be extra minivans and I have a good shot at getting one.
