Can you use Disney dollars everywhere is Disney?

I know this is going to sound like a dumb question, but can you use disney dollars everywhere in Disney? I have never been, and our first trip is in 7 weeks. I would love to go to the Disney store and get almost all of our spending money in disney money. Can you use it in restaraunts, stores, parks, etc.? Thanks for the help.

Yes, all the stores, restaurants etc at WDW take the Disney Dollars. The snack carts where you buy popcorn and coke also take them. I love having them because I can't spend them before the trip. I usually take just what I need each day and leave the rest locked in the safe. They are like cash and are non-replaceable if lost or stolen.

You can also use them at the Disney stores in DTD and to pay for movie tickets at the AMC at DTD.

You can even use them to pay for your resort room!

The only place were I couldn't use them was some of the non-disney stores @DTD. Everywhere else accepted them as cash and will even give you cash back. Once we needed some "real" money and exchanged some Disney Dollars for their actual cash value at Guest Services @ MGM. They work great!

My understanding is that it is preferred that you not tip people with dd's. I think it's a security thing to make sure cm's, mousekeepers etc aren't getting dd's by illegal means.

We no longer have a Disney store in our area...and I want to purchase some dollars as surprises for my kids up until the day we leave.

I went on Saturday to purchase D$ at my Disney Store and they are not carrying them right now. The manager at the store told me that it has something to do with changing the money because of the celebration in May. She gave me a Disney Dollars by Mail Reference Card with the following phone numbers.
