If you are going from a stay in a value studio in Jambo House, get up early to transfer over to a concierge room, check in at say 9:00 am (knowing room will not be available till 4:00), can you go up to the lounge with your new room key at that point, that early in the morning?

Yes you can.

:thumbsup2From my experience, if you do, they do try to get your CL room ready early! We had ours by the time we finished breakfast in the lounge! We also went from value to CL early one AM!

Checkin is on the 6th floor in the lounge. Very nice. Just tell the CMs at the bellstand that you are checking in for club level and a CM will get you up there. However, this is only true when CMs are on duty on the club floor....7am-10pm.

I think we've checked in early in the morning every time we've stayed in a club villa but have never been as lucky as Bobbi. This year, I checked in downstairs before 7am because some of us were doing the safari. Didn't get our villa until after 4pm.

Enjoy...it's wonderful. :wizard:

Keep in mind that checkout is not until 11:00am so getting a room early in the morning is rare.

I stayed in concierge once. We stayed in a regular studio the night before so we checked in early and had breakfast in the lounge. Our room was not ready until later. It is also available after checkout. We had a late flight so we went back to the lounge in the afternoon to relax before going to the airport.

Ok thanks everyone, very, very helpful.

Again, thanks everyone for your responses! Now if you're checking out of your value studio in Jambo, don't you have to go to the front desk to check out first, tell them you're going to concierge, then they'll direct you over to Bell services and give them your luggage, or is it the other way around? Sorry, just trying to cover the details.:)

We've never moved from AKL to AKL. I think every time it's been BCV to AKL. No, now that I think if it one time we started our trip at AKV club and then moved to BCV and that time didn't check in until the afternoon. Not relevant though, is it. :rotfl: Anyway, we never go to the front desk to checkout because we use express checkout. We also rarely use bell services as my DH prefers to do the work himself so we just leave the luggage in the car until our villa is ready.

In your situation, I think I'd check in first before moving out of the first villa. That way on the slight chance that your villa is ready, you can just move straight there. In the more likely event that the villa is not ready, couldn't you call bell services from the first villa to pick up the luggage if your plan is for them to hold it?

That is excellent advise, thank you!

Oops I meant to quote this one, THIS was excellent advise:rotfl:, not to say your first comment wasnt:goodvibes. I forgot about the whole express checkout thing. Ok so one more question. If you check into the concierge portion, are you officially checked out of the first room yet, in other words, do you still have that room till 11:00?

I'm not certain in your case since you'll be at the same resort. If moving from another, I know you're not checked out. Even in your case, I would think your first set of KYYW cards would still be valid for charging or the DDP until midnight even once your villa has turned over.

But as for vacating the first villa, my philosophy is always to get out as soon as it works for us in the spirit of "Do unto others" as I know how much we appreciate getting a villa before 4pm when possible. When we move, I often drive to the new resort and check in while my DH gets ready and moves our luggage down with our DS (I'm always the first awake). I swing back to the first resort and we go about our day until the second villa is ready.

Another option is to call bell services in the first place if you know you want them to take care of your bags. They can call and check to see if your villa is ready.....or at least I know they have for me in the past. If it's ready, they'll take you and your luggage straight up.

Oh you are just full of good info, thanks a million!:thumbsup2. I think so we have a home that morning (planning on taking it easy that day), we'll take that advice and call bell services and have them check to see if its ready, keep our regular villa as long as possible tho, to have a home, since we're sticking around the Lodge that day.

You're welcome. It's so much fun talking about AKV. We really spend a lot of down time at that resort, too. So relaxing to have resort days there. But I should clarify. I meant Bell Service would call once they have your bags. However, you can also call the front desk from your first villa and ask.

Have fun!
