Can you use a "plus" option before you go to the parks?

On a 5 days park hopper - can our first day be Typhoon Lagoon or Disney Quest or do we have to visit a park first to activate our pass?

We would like to use one of our plus options on our first day when we won't have as much time for the parks - but my friend told me that she thought that I had to visit a park first. I hope that this is not true! Anyone know for sure?

The hopper plus passes do not have to be activated first. you may use the pluses first however they are not good for Disney Quest only the unlimited park hopper passes are good for DQ. The plusses on the hopper passes are TL, BB, Pleasure Island and Wide World of Sports.

You can use your plus option whenever you want to, you don't have to go to the parks to activate. You can also save them for another trip if you don't use all of them during the current trip. TL is great, never been to BB but we're trying it this year with our UPH. Have a wonderful trip.

Your friend is confusing today's PHP's with the World Hopper passes from years ago. The WHP's allowed you 7 days of unlimited entry to the water parks following the first use of your ticket. When these first started being offered, you had to "activate" the first day by using it at a major park. You could not use it first at a minor park (BB/TL/PI). But then when Disney introduced the ATS ticketing system, it dropped the first use at a major park restriction and allowed them to be used first anywhere. The WHP's ceased being sold in 1997.

BTW, 5 days was the longest length of major park admissions you could get on those. It was prior to AK opening.

So your answer is that you can definitely use them at either water park, PI or WWoS prior to using it at a major park.
