can you upgrade with free dining?

I was wondering, if I book a package in 2011 at a value resort that includes free dining (quick service) can I pay the $10 per night difference between the quick service price ($31.99) and the regular price ($41.99) to upgrade to the traditional dining plan, or do I just have to stay with the Quick Service Dining? Sure, you can upgrade and just pay the difference between the plans. You can do it when making a reservation online or over the phone, and I think you can call in and upgrade if you've already made reservations.
