Can you upgrade a 3-Day SoCal Ticket?

My husband purchased a 3-day promotional SoCal ticket ($150) back in February. He still has one day left on it. Can he upgrade to an annual pass? I think he is wishing he would have just bought the pass back in February.

Yes, but the expiration date will be in February if that's when he first used it. Depending on when your next planned park day is after the 1 remaining day, it may be a better value to just buy a new pass in a few months.

Interesting, thank you! That gives me some food for thought.

I bought an annual pass in February so I can take advantage of a year's worth of free admission for my toddler (who will be 3 at the end of next February). If my husband upgrades now to SoCal Select like I have (for an additional $190), the pass will be blocked out for most of June, all of July and most of August. We are looking at a trip for him in May (when he would theoretically upgrade to the annual pass) and the next wouldn't be until late August at the earliest (unless we snuck in a quick visit in early June, which is possible).

I'm not sure if I will renew my pass after February, so my husband having a pass that extends past February might not be terribly beneficial for him. I will have to think it over. I think he would likely go once a month approximately from August to February so it is probably worthwhile.

I know this is an old thread, but when I bought our 3-day pass, the woman at the ticket booth said I could upgrade it only if I did so within 30 days of the first date it was used. Maybe that is only for monthly payments? But I don't know. So I would suggest calling and asking if you haven't tried it yet.

It's possible things have changed, but last year I bought a 3 day So-cal parkhopper and used it in Feb, March, and April and didn't upgrade it to an annual pass until the last use in April. We wanted to visit with my husband on Saturdays and we knew we were going to upgrade to the cheapest pass. We had not problem upgrading to a pass that expired in February (when our first visit was). I didn't care about monthly payments, but that's how they set it up.

To update, we did end up upgrading his pass. We bought the original ticket in February and updated in May with no problem. We paid in full.
