I have a ton of it in my yard but want to move some of it. It's roots are not ver deep and seems like a week bush. Anyone ever try this?

I don't have any Mountain Laurel, Nat, but I think some of the Buds do, so here's a Bud bump.....lol...:)

Oh, I did see something (but the page wasn't available at the time), that they are easier to transplant from containers, than from location to location. Maybe you could try one of two, and see how it goes. :)

I will... I will let you know how it takes. Thanks Kim. :D :D

Yes I've done it a few times. I just love pink Mt. Laurel, reminds me so much of growing up on LI in NY. Back then you could go out in the deep woods and dig them up. They grew everywhere. That's now against the law.
You're right the roots are very shallow so you do have to be careful picking them up. Plenty of mulch, peat, water and shade in their new home with some of their own dirt in a large ball.

You have a TON of Mountain Laurel?? Hey buds, I think we should all take a trip to New Hampshire!! I'm sure Nat will share. LOL!

Seriously, sounds like Deb knows what she is talking about. Good luck with moving them.
