Can you trade PS with another guest?

I know this is a strange question, but does anyone know if disney will allow guests to swap PS with other guests? For instance I secured PS for Cindy breakfast for 4 on a Sat, but I really only wanted PS for Cindy breakfast for 2 during the week (or Cindy breakfast for 4 during the week). If another guest preferred my date, could we trade?

No the priority seating is non-transferable. There used to be a problem with groups getting PS and then selling them on the internet so now once the name is on it can't be changed. And since the name has to match the credit card it wouldn't work.

but, in theory, it would work for a PS at a locale where you do not have to secure with a credit card.

Example,
Your name is Smith, party of 4. The other guest is Jones, party of 4 - for a 6pm seating at San Angels, or whereever. You could go at the appointed time for Jones, tell the CM at the podium your name is Jones for 4 at 6pm and get seated. Then simply pay your server at the end of the meal with your "Smith" credit card.

Not recommended, but possible.

I don't think you would have a problem other than at the restaurants that charge a deposit. The deposit system was setup to prevent transferring popular reservations, as RedNeckChik said.

But what about if you pay for your meal in cash?

It doesn't matter..Cinderella reservations are charged a deposit on your credit card...the name on the card must match the name on the reservation and they will check a photo id at the podium to make sure. It may work at other resturaunts but not at Cinderella...
