We took our daughter when she was 15 and she had about £200 spending money - if I recall that lasted her well for anything she wanted - but it was purely for all her own personal stuff she wanted - we still paid for all her food, drink, snacks, etc. etc.
In fact, I bought her loads of clothes too - so what she spent it on I have no idea!! LOL
That's a tricky one! How much will they need , or how much will they want ?
How much they'll need will depend on what they are going to be expected to buy for themselves - as Jan says, if all food, drinks, snacks, etc. are being paid for then it's only as much as they'll want for buying souvenirs, gifts, etc.
My two DDs (they'll be 13 and 18 when we go in October) only need money for these kinds of incidentals - we pay for all essentials for them. They save up pocket money before each trip and usually take around £100 each for two weeks. One will spend all her $$s and be asking for more on loan, the other will bring some home and change it back to ££s again!
Thanks guys I'll bear those comments in mind. Knowing my daughter she will want as much as she can get (lol) we will certainly be paying for her drinks and meals etc so it is just to buy souvenirs and odds and sods. But we don't want to go too mad. This trip has cost us more than orginally planned. I don't want to appear penny pinching bcoz I want us all to have a really fab time and not want for anything - but I don't want to end up giving her silly money. It's really difficult. I thought maybe about £200 would be plenty.
