I am going to Orlando for a conference in April and plan to go out to dinner in Disney. This is a rare childless trip, so we wanted to do more "grown up" things. Have you been to the House of Blues? Do they have entertainment there in the evening? I went on their website, but it was pretty confusing.
Thanks!

The Food And srvice i found great, they have taken out the meatloaf which is a bummer, but the ribeyes are excellent-y ;)

They only have music in the resturant on certain days and times, you should be able to find the times online.

I didn't like it at all. It was like going to a Applebees. Many people like the gosbel brunch.

We went to HOB during the day last time we were at DW and really enjoyed it. Compared to a lot of other restaurants at DW it is pretty good. A notch up from Applebees/Chili's but definitely not fine dining.

According to their website, they have live entertainment on Fri-Sat nights from 1030 to close. Some of their concerts are decent - Sevendust and Trivium tonight, which I would enjoy.

It appears the HOB menu has been re-vamped recently by Aaron Sanchez, (celebrity chef from Food Network and Chopped, etc.) He seems like a great chef, however I would hate to see the happy hour specials, etc. going away. Probably already happened, but I haven't heard yet.

We went last Sept. we go every year on our first night there. It had seriously gone downhill and is now off our list. Like an above poster said paid chain food now.

If you want something special there are so many awesome signature dining places in WDW - California Grill, Citricos, Jiko's being my top 3 favs. Lovely food and wine.

A few years ago (more than I should possibly admit to!) I went to see Pennywise there with my brother and the security were ejecting people for cussing...I know its Disney and cussing isn't nice but they should have kind of expected it.:confused3

DTD has way better options for a nice adult meal than HoB. and for truly fine dining.. Jiko at AKL is the second best experience( V&A is still tops) for a nice quiet adult meal.

Go to HOB during happy hour for half price appetizers! The appies are HUGE.

I think there is a new menu as of a few weeks ago.

We went there for the first time two weeks ago, and loved it. Part of this may have been that we had one of those "spend $100, get $50 off" certificates. In terms of value, wherever a family of five "adults" (non child's meals) can get out the door on-property for well under $100, including tax and tip, that's a great choice.

The food was a bit better than an Applebees or Chilis. Two of our family members had the "make your own burger" type of thing, and loved them (large patty and the fries were great). One had pasta (trio of cheese rigatoni with a nice "kick") and was more than content with the quality and quantity. Another had the Prime Rib Dip (looked fantastic and she really enjoyed it) and I had the half slab of St. Louis ribs (I'd rate them a solid "B"...good sauce, tender, meaty...not too fatty...with eight bones, which is a plus). We all added dessert (the standard Disney choco-lava cake) which was just as good as at Coral Reef.

Entertainment was going on outside (a talented gent with a guitar) and the restaurant is definitely unique inside. Will we return, definitely. Want linen tables, candles and chamber music? Stay at the Floridian, or join Thurston & Lovey over at the Yacht Club!

You can call them direct and is on the recording when entertainment there. and they always had a Sunday gospel brunch. The food there is very good. They also will be on 2012 WDW dining plan I read:surfweb:

Well, actually, I was looking for a FUN place for dinner - thinking maybe some blues music! We are going to Raglan Road one night because of the entertainment, and I thought this might be another choice.

We have been to WDW oodles of times, and since Pleasure Island has disbanded, there aren't a great number of adult evening activities. We do the park stuff with the grandkids, but I was looking for something else.

I guess the food is like much of Disney in that it appeals to some more than others. I think we'll give it a try. Thanks for the tip to call to check on entertainment!

I've always had a great experience here! Even if it is just sitting outside on the patio having a drink and people watching! You can't go wrong with that!

I got food poisoning there in May so I don't recommend eating there. However, I do suggest getting a drink and sitting outside and enjoying the musician.
