Can you tell me about Mad Tea Party?

Take ear plugs.... It's loud!

My teenage and pre-teen grandkids had a great time.

Are you asking about the Mad T Party in DCA or the Mad Tea Party (aka Tea Cups) in Disneyland?

I'm guessing you mean the Mad T Party in DCA. It's not necessarily a season thing, but it tends to only be presented on the weekends in the non-peak season. It was replaced this winter with Freeze the Night, but it's due to return for the 60th anniversary celebration (Mad T Party Diamond Celebration).

The Mad T Party is composed a couple of different elements that are presented throughout the evening. There is a live band that covers popular songs (some older, some newer), a DJ that plays music when the band isn't performing, a dance troupe (Hottest Deck in Town), and some other entertainment. There are lots of alcoholic drink offerings and an arcade. It can be very loud (especially when the band is playing), but it's also a lot of fun. It's themed after Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland (not the Disney animated movie). It's mostly family friendly, but the target audience is college-aged. I don't know if there will be big changes for the 60th (aside from probably more sparkle on the customs and decor).

It's just a dance party and an excuse for DCA to sell more booze. It really is geared more toward the 13-25 y/o visitors, but it is worth stopping by if you have the time. My niece was 11 last summer and enjoyed the music and dancing, my 4 y/o daughter followed along. My mom and I not so much.

Thanks, Figment! When you say weekend does that include Sunday? We arrive Sunday afternoon and leave Saturday morning.

Yes, it is usually presented on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the non-peak season. During the peak season (e.g., Spring Break, Summer, Christmas), it's presented nightly. Last year, Mad T Party was presented nightly from mid-June through Labor Day. With the 60th anniversary celebration starting this year, it's not as clear when it'll transition to the weekend-only schedule in the fall (it's starting it's daily schedule earlier this year - May 22).

DH and I are in the 30ish range (him older and me turning this year) and we enjoyed it because it was nice to have a night cap drink after a long day AND my little DD loves hearing the music and dancing for a few minutes. I wouldn't really miss it if they decided to remove it forever though.

Husband and I LOVE the Mad Tea Party, all the decor, music and, of course, drinks... its coming back on May 22 (thank goodness) and yes, only on weekends. You should def check it out

We love it! It's a lot of fun! Good music and drinks! Looking forward to seeing them again!

I LOVE the Mad Tea Party! Band and DJ are fantastic and so fun to dance to. Kids (18 year old son and 12 year old daughter) along with husband really enjoy it too!

The singers are really talented and they do sing "oldies" tunes to appeal to parents.
