Can you tell me about Hollywood and Vine?

We just booked the H&V with the Fantasmic package. Can anyone give me any reviews? Thanks! Is the food similar to Chef Mickey's (just mediocre)?

We ate at H & V twice during our visits last April and June. We also tried Chef Mickey's again in June. I would definately say that H & V is better. The variety of food and upkeep is much better. The desserts are better at Chef M but H & V was good also.

Chef Mickey was having problems with their refrigeration on the buffet that night so I don't know if that made a difference in the food they served. I do know that it was bad enough that we won't be back this June.

It was actually the best meal we had on our first trip last May. The root beer sweet potatoes were excellent and the flank steak was also pretty good. A great variety and all quite good for a buffet. My all time favorite WDW meal though was at Le Cellier.:)

We did the Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic Dinner Package in October. We really enjoyed the variety of food they had. I especially loved the desserts. I do prefer H&V over Chef Mickey's. :D

If the food is like it was 2 years ago when we were last there, I definately preferred H&V over CM's AND over the Park Fare (but my family does not agree with me on that one.)

I agree with the comments of Molly in that the variety, freshness, and the upkeep of the buffet surpassed CM's.

I think that you will be pleased. :)

Thanks so much for the replies. If it's even possible, I'm even MORE excited now!! ;) Thank you!

H&V was my son's favorite restaurant. He really liked the salmon. I thought the flank steak was very good. Add the fact that you get a pass for fantasmic and it is a great deal.

We ate there last july. I liked it but dh did not think food was all that good. Our GS did not feel well and ate very little, GS did not start to feel bad till right before we got to H&V, so the very nice cm did not charge for GS's meal. and we still got the fantasmic tickets.

we ended up NOT going to fantasmic that night since GS was sick we took him to contra care and spent 5 hrs there, we got meds and went back to the resort.

next afternoon i went back to mgm and went to guest relations, i explained to them what happen. showed them our unused fantasmic tickets and had the doctor bill in hand (they didn't want to see the doctor info) The nice cm asked us when we wanted to go to fantasmic and upon telling her we would like to go the next night to give GS a chance to rest up she gave us NEW fantasmic tickets for the next night.

Got to love the way they treat their guest :)

When planning that trip someone on these boards told me to make sure upon leaving that you have your paper for fantasmic, waiters are only human and can get busy and forget to give them to you.

We've always enjoyed Hollywood & Vine and I'm relieved that they're at least still open for dinner. Chef Mickey's has good character interaction but the food is mediocre at best.

By the way, H&V share restrooms with 50's Primetime via a common hallway and I like to exit through Primetime's waiting area. It's fun to see the interior of the restaurant even though we don't eat there.

Anyone know if non-alcoholic drinks are included in the price?

No they are not. I had to pay for my beer order but the sodas were free. This is WDW policy on any buffet meals were alcoholic drinks are offered.

Thanks! If I understand correctly, they ARE included? Dh will be pleased. Having a soda will be a nice change from the water we usually have!

May I ask what the Fantasmic package costs?

I can't give our exact figure, but I'm fairly certain it was about $20 per adult plus tax and tip.
