Can you take snacks into the park?

We've got PS for Cinderella's castle as well as several other meals planned, but I'm one of these people that HAS to eat every few hours.

I was going to take several granola bars with me so if I need to eat while in line I can, just to tide me over and not disrupt everyone elses' fun. (I'm the only one in the family this way - DH can go all day without eating!)

Is there any Disney policy on this - I guess my alternative is to purchase a bunch of stuff on Main Street early on?

Thanks for any advice!

I always take granola or cookies in my purse for when I start to feel "shaky" and need sugar and can't wait in line. I don't think there is a problem with it. I've been doing this for my entire life at WDW. No one has ever cared.

Yes, you can.

Last week, I saw several people pulling COOLERS full of food and drink.

I always take our midmorning snack with us. We can snack in a line without wasting time. I also have to have a Pepsi and WDW only serves Coke. No one has ever said anything when they look in my backpack.

Yes Ma'am you can!

I've always taken snacks like fruit snacks, granola bars, crackers, etc. plus coke and capri suns.

Snacks are fine, as are non-alcoholic beverages in non-glass containers. (so if you want to buy bottled water at a grocery store, and bring some to the parks, that's fine).

Large coolers are not allowed, and if you're visiting AK, they will ask you to throw away disposable straws. (decorative straws shaped like mickey are fine, as are the thicker, more sturdy straws that come with some water bottles)

When we were there in Dec. 2002, we brought a small lunch for our entire group in a backpack everyday. Turkey sandwiches, carrots and bottles of water. They searched the bag and never said a word.
Saved us a lot of money. I would rather eat a somewhat healthy lunch (and cheap!) lunch and splurge on special treats than spend too much on the greasy burger, pizza and fries my kids would order for lunch.

I'm planning on doing it, since I'm hypoglycemic and need to eat every couple of hours. Buying snacks in the park that often would get very pricey. ;)

I've never had a problem with a small tin of Altoids, some gum and a bottle of Dr.Pepper.

Funny story about the Dr.Pepper

I had bought it on the way into the park at a service station near the off site hotel. My mom let me out at MGM and the guard joked that he could tell who was from the South by the Dr.Pepper bottles.I found it cute and harmless

Stay away from chocolate! My DSis is also hypoglycemic. We went to Sea World one day for Spring Break, and she put some Milky Way Eggs in my fanny pack. I had no idea they were there, until I reached in to get some gum, and boy did I have a mess. Everything in my fanny pack was covered with chocolate, even my keys. It was not fun cleaning that up.

Yep, snacks are allowed.

SyracuseWolverine says so and many of the park brochures state this too now. :)

Happy nibbling.

We always bring granola bars and capris drinks, and security never took issue with it at all.
