Can you take camera on rides?

This is my first trip to Disney. Can you take your DSLR on rides? I don't want to leave it with the stroller.

Yes. As far as I know there aren't any restrictions about carrying your camera on rides.

I'm sure you know this, but never leave anything on a stroller that you would miss if you came back and found it gone.....

I can't think of a single ride you can't bring your DSLR on. You can have them out on most of them (just be careful not to use the flash on dark rides) and the others (RnR, ToT, Kali River Rapids) have room for you to store your things. On RnR, I put my bag by my feet with the strap around my ankle. Also keep a zip loc bag with you to stow the camera on any wet rides.

And some of the rides even have a place to store items in front of the seat. I know on Expedition Everest there's a mesh pocket you can put items in. Although on most rides I just wrapped the bag around my foot and didn't worry too much about it.

Absolutely. If it is a rough ride and you are worried put it in your bag and keep it between your feet with a strap hooked around an ankle. Otherwise keep it out and shoot away.

I know this sounds silly, but is a zip lock really good enough to protect the camera on water rides? I keep thinking, I spent how much on a dslr and Im putting it in a zip lock for a water ride! lol

Rock'n'Rollercoaster goes upside down, so that's one that some people don't take the camera on. I imagine though if you're taking a stroller you wouldn't all be going on that one together, so someone can hold the camera if you want to ride it

I think that's the only ride I've ever given up the camera for (DW and DD don't ride it so I have a designated camerasitter).

I've taken my camera on all rides including RNRC. I will either leave it in the bag with my leg through one of the straps like noted above. Or I wear it diagonally across, like a messenger bag and keep it snug to my waist so lap bars can come down close and I use my arm to keep it in place from being knocked around. The only ride I always keep it in the bag for is Kali and then in a ziploc too.

I felt the same way for the water rides, so I purchased the Sea to Summit Dry Sack at Cabelas.

Its sturdier than a zip lock bag and you can put in a purse, bag or cargo pocket. When you close and fasten it, the closure becomes a handle. I use the 8 litre bag for my K10D with battery grip and 28-70 attached.

PS I just tried my 70-200 f2.8 (attached w/battery grip) and it fits also.

Just wanted to add that last year I purchased the big oversized ziploc bags for the water rides-I threw my whole backpack in it-worked great on kali rapids. It was the only dry part of my family after the ride

If you're worried about a zip-loc popping open, I'd go for a dry bag. You can find one at your local sports/camping store at reasonable prices. My DSIL uses a dry bag for her VERY expensive camera while canoeing/hiking/tent camping so it should be great for a water ride. I'd never leave my camera in the stroller either!
