We are leaving next week and didn't know if the kids can swim with the current temps? Tia!

We just returned a few hours ago. while we didn't swim there were many that were in the pools. Temps had been in the mid 70s, but the pools are heated.

Have a good trip.

I believe the pools are heated to 82 degrees. Just have plenty of towels ready when they get out.

I swam yesterday morning, and there's a family at the VWL pool right now. It's warm enough for some people!

 Just reading this has me feeling cold already because my 4 year old will be BEGGING to go in next week. Can't wait until she's old enough to go in by herself!

Of course not, I'm sitting in my house at the computer;)

You're from Ohio ... you'll be just fine! We're from Wisconsin and we swim in December & January.

I'm here now. The water feels a little cold at first, but once you get in and swim around a bit, it feels great!

Florida's winters can be a bit capricious, so my advice is to bring swimsuits any time of the year. It's often warm enough to swim, especially in the afternoons, and if it is you'll regret leaving them behind.

It has been my experience that kids will swim in any weather! Bring the suits :thumbsup2

We usually come this time in December, and it's been warmer and rainier than other years. I did not bring enough warm weather clothing! Thank heavens for the washers and dryers.
I'm heading to the pool very soon!

I pretty much agree with the above.

Being able to swim is relative to what you are used to water temperature wise.

Personally, I like the water to be in the 80's and the air to be about 90. But I have swam in December at Disney World with no problems

Thanks everyone! Guess we will bring and see. How rainy has it been there lately?v

i'm from PA & have a pool and use it as long as water temp is above 67 degrees:), but imo often BC, WL & BLT pools tend to feel chilly with the breeze off the respective lakes.

I also think some pools are warmer than others. SAB is one of those pools. Also the new pool at SSR (Paddock) seemed warmer than the Springs. Oh course it could just be me.

Joining in on this thread. We arrive on 12/20!! Hoping for some sunny, warm, not crowded :rotfl2:, days =)

The hot tubs are great! Also, in a one week December trip to WDW a couple years ago, we swam for 2 days, and then a front moved through, and I had to buy a couple heavy-duty sweatshirts and gloves. I remember freezing @ the Candlelight Processional!

Us too!!! Less than 4 days to go...woo hoo!!

And my kids will swim even if it's snowing...they swam in the ice cold pool on the Carnival Glory at night (it was a cruise to Canada and it was FREEZING and the pools weren't heated and were ocean water). I sat bundled in a blanket and drinking coffee.

Swimming won't be the issue.... it's getting out of the water that gets a little cold. Good advice from one of the first posters. Have the towels ready for when you get out, and you should be good!
