Can you sub a QS for a TS?

I remember several trips ago there being some "incentive" for substituting a QS for a TS credit when on DDP. Is this a regular thing?

Oh yes, not a CS for a TS! We were doing the math and it appears the DDP would be close to equal for us vs. TIW and OOP. However we are there 6 nights and only have 4 TS booked. And we really don't want to eat 2 more TS.

I've never had a problem.
I've used extra TS credits for take out meals at WPE and they are fine with it.

looks like you'll be there during Free Dining...traditionally, that's when the restaurants have been most flexible to allow Table Service credits be used at counter service, even in the parks.

During non-Free Dining times of year it's not as easy outside of resort counter service.

The incentive isn't a regular thing anymore, but a straight one TS for one CS meal is generally allowed. Especially during free dining.

Many have reported that they have an easier time swapping at non-park locations versus in park CS locations.

Last year we swaped many of our TS for QS. I would just suggest advising the person taking your order that you are doing this. We got so many of them saying "Thank you for letting me know". I guess most people don't.

we asked last year and they told us we weren't allowed to do that. So at the last minute we changed parks so we had to find a reservation open for that park. Believe me - we really wanted a counter service that night....

I was thinking about upgrading my Quick Serv for Dining plan but the castmember I chatted with said no we could not trade a table serv for a counter serv that we had to use our entitlements as they are listed so I didnt upgrade cause I dont really want to do table serv meals except for maybe 2.

It's one of those things that pretty much depends on the mood and/or level of experience of your server.

We did it several times on our last trip (during free dining,) however we've only tried at our resorts food court.- I did see ppl. do it at Cosmic Rays 2 different times during our stay though without a problem. I agree, that if 1 cm tells you no, I'd try another.
