Can you still put a hold on your room?

I really want to make a ressie for my next vacay but we don't get our year end bonus until the 15th of Jan. I know you used to be able to hold a room for 10- 14 days before putting the deposit down. Does any one know if you can still do that?

A deposit has to be made within 7 days of making a reservation .

I was wondering this as well because I cannot make the deposit untill payday (Jan 15th) as well and since we are traveling in June (after my bestfriends wedding in Miami ) I was concerned that POP would book up quickly... The reservation specialist said that they would not make the reservation without the $200 deposit, I will call back next week when payday comes but Im hoping, wishing and praying that we can still get our hotel reservation for POP!!!! At least I made the ADR's and BBB reservations already!!!

I just got off the phone 5 mins ago and they were able to put my reservation on hold. She gave me a hassle, really tried to push me for that deposit now, but I told her I didn't have my credit card info in front of me so she said she could put it on a couple day hold so I could call back with the deposit. So they definitely can.

If you book online you have to put the deposit down right away.

If you book by phone they will give you a grace period (sometimes with a bit of an argument). The grace period usually is given for those who prefer to mail a check in rather than pay by credit card.

How much of a grace period did they give to you?? I dont get paid till the Friday Jan 14th.... You think they will allow a reservation without a deposit till then??

The woman told me "a couple days". I worked for AAA booking Disney about two years ago and I believe it was 14 days at the time, and may have since changed to 7 days.

I think quite awhile back they went from 14 days to 7.
And IIRC some offers do require an immediate deposit. Although not all do.

Depends on how far out you're booking too. Room only must be at least 30 days out. Packages 45. And the hold is 7 days. If airfare is on the res, deposit + airfare must be paid by 10P est.
