Can you still purchase photo pass after?

Before they did Photopass plus, you used to be able to buy the CD after your trip...can you still do that? I know it probably won't include the ride photos (don't really care). We just don't have the extra funds to purchase now (and it's less then 14 days) but I would like to purchase after the fact...any one know?

Yes. You can order it online after. The ride photos are a separate package, so it will just be the PhotoPass pics. If you want to extend the time a little, you have 15 days to register the cards. You can look at the cards at the photo shop in either park, but once you register them online, your timer starts.

Oh great! I don't really care about the ride photos...we will mostly be using rider swap on the ones that take pictures anyway! But it will be nice to still be able to utilize photopass and get us all in some pictures. :) Thanks!

You can also give the photographer your phone or camera and they'll take a shot with that too. Ask for some magic shots, it makes the cost of the CD sting a little less.

You might consider looking into purchasing Photopass Plus when you get to the parks if you don't want to purchase it right now. I looked at the Photopass website and it says that PP+ is $70 if pre-ordered or $100 if ordered at the parks. The cost of the PhotoCD was $170 according to DisneyPhotoPass.com.

(I tried linking it, but it looks like you have to have a PP account to view product pricing. You can create an account without ordering anything if you just wanted to see the prices of various things. http://www.disneyphotopass.com/photoproducts.aspx).)

I'm not sure where you're seeing $170 for the PhotoCD because when I login to my PhotoPass account it says that the CD is $69.95

I've bought a CD 3-4 times in the last 2 years- $70 every time. It's great to go home, look through your photos and the photopass ones and be able to see if they got better shots. The pictures don't expire for quite some time either. We're AP holders and have gotten 2 trips off one cd a few times.

I logged into my Disney Photopass account and clicked on the "Order Now" button under the PhotoCD icon. It took me to this page: http://www.disneyphotopass.com/photocd.aspx. That's where I saw the $170 for the Disney Photopass PhotoCD. That seemed high to me as well, but that's what came up when I looked at it a moment ago. Maybe my account is defaulting to prices for WDW PhotoCDs, but I couldn't find anything in the fine print indicating the price was for WDW or DLR photos. I don't have any PP photos left in my account to test, so I went with the listed price on the page.

I just pre ordered my Photo Pass Plus last week for our April trip for $69.95.

I think the $170 might be for the Disney Photo Pass Photo CD IF you didn't purchase the Photo Pass Plus prior to your trip. So if you went to the park without the pre purchased Photo Pass Plus and used their free photo pass service and then decided you wanted a cd full of the photos you got on that free pass it would cost you $170. That's what I'm getting from it at least. Here's the exact wording about the "Free Photo Pass Service" from their How It Works Section:

Disney's PhotoPass service allows Guests to see and share their photos taken at Disney Parks & Resorts online for no charge.

Here's how it works:

  1. Get your photo taken by Disney's PhotoPass Photographers in any of the Walt Disney World® Theme Parks, Disneyland® Theme Parks, or at other designated Disney's PhotoPass locations.
  2. They'll give you a Disney's PhotoPass card that links all your photos together for easy viewing and online sharing.
  3. Go online to see your photos! Simply enter your Disney's PhotoPass ID number at DisneyPhotoPass.com and complete the online registration.

From there you will be able to view, share and order prints of your photos as well as create Disney keepsake products.

I purchased the Photo Pass Plus (it was still $69.95 back in 2012) prior to my last trip in 2012 and LOVED it. I could get as many photos as I wanted without worrying about "what's this going to cost me later". And it really motivated me to try and get more photos than if I hadn't already paid for the pass....I remember that I kept thinking "I need to get my moneys worth" and in the end I was able to get a ton of photos that turned out pretty good. I'm convinced we probably wouldn't have taken the time to get some of the shots we did if we didn't have the pass. I'm one that likes to take a ton of photos though so it may not be worth it for everybody. And we also used our own camera so we didn't rely completely on the pass (mostly for those times that there was no photographer around).

$70 is the DLR price, $170 is the WDW price for the PhotoPass CD. Maybe they default to the more expensive price, or maybe if you've entered a serial number for WDW you get that price. $99 is the non-preorder price for PhotoPass+. I'm pretty sure you can only pre-order that online and buy it in the park. There wouldn't be much a point to buying PhotoPass+ after the fact, you'd be missing out on the ride photos and character meal photos and it would be too late to add them on once you've left.
