Can you stand another wedding question?

Can't back out - it's my sister's wedding. I have made other suggestions- like rent a room that has no catering and we can bring the food ourselves. There's no way in h-e double hockey sticks I'm paying for that shower. I'm still pushing to just have two.

Ouch...I would keep pushing since this is obviously NOT a bridal shower they want but a family shower.

If it's not within your budget - or you would have to "charge" things in order to participate, you most certainly can back out.. Sister or no sister, she has no right to expect you to spend money you can't afford simply because she has no backbone and won't stand up to her future in-laws..

Believe me - the costs to you are not going to end here.. Brace yourself..

I think you misunderstand. My sister doesn't know about any of this shower business. It's all been back and forth between her future MIL and me, my sister and the other bridesmaids. So she can't stand up to them - she doesn't know about it.

But she does know about the tux incident, right? I have a feeling that these future in-laws are looking to spend oodles of other peoples money, so I'm guessing you haven't seen the last of the "gimmes" yet..

Yes - she knows about the Tux incident and I think you are right. I think more than money it's about control. I hope my sister doesn't have a miserable time w/ these folks.
