Can you stand another digital camera thread?

Hey Gail! I wasn't the least bit insulted by what you said about Kodak's!! I was just saying that we've had good luck with ours. And we will certainly keep your info. in mind!!

I'll let you know if I need more help, my dh has yet to read this thread and absorb the info. lol

Thank you sooooo much!!:sunny:

Just an FYI, that price I linked to was for Compact Flash, almost always the least costly format. You mention SD, usually more expensive. I think the sticks are generally the highest, CF, the lowest. Another plus, IMO, for a camera, whatever the brand, that uses CF, all other things being equal.

Thanks, sometimes this medium is difficult. You can say something, not mean it as an insult and it can be taken as one.
I like to make sure I am on "the same page" with all involved.
:)

JMHO, but, a Nikon is the best on the markte right now. I love the Coolpix 4300 (it has a rebate, btw) and the new coolpix 5200 looks very nice. Have to read up on that one. :)

I read a lot that said the Cannon A70 was one of the best. Never read a bad thing about it. I currently have a Fuji 1 mp and am looking to upgrade.

Thanks, Dan, for pointing out the price difference of the different memory cards. I don't think anyone takes this into consideration when they are buying a camera.

I'm going to jump off the Kodak bandwagon and give a thumbs up for my Fuji S7000.

It uses either a DX card or a Microdrive for memory, and can take picture up to 6.4 mp resolution.

6x optical & 3x digital zoom, and more importantly, has VERY good optics. I have always hated digital cameras with great electronics, but a lens the size of a pencil eraser.

I shoot @ 3 mp for "everyday" stuff, and my 340 MB microdrive (about $50, chesper than a comparable xd card) will hold about 450 pictures on it.

After a $100 rebate, it cost about $390.

My old Fuji uses smart media memory cards. I guess the new Fujis now use more expensive memory cards.

I have the Canon A70 and the Kodak DX6340...both 3.2 MP.

The pictures from both come out really nice but I have only printed in 4X6 and 5X7 so far...

Although the picture quality of both is very good, I do think that the Kodak is much more "user friendly" than the Canon.
