I just posted last week about my senior DS making the honor roll for the first time in his life -- and this is the kid whose principals said he'd be a dropout at 17.
Anyway, that's not the brag. This is: he passed his senior project on the first try!!!
I honestly didn't think he'd do it, but he DID! They start working on their senior research papers their sophomore year, and he wouldn't do it, but by junior year he finally kicked it into gear and turned it in. Then they have to do a 20 minute presentation of their subject in front of a committee of teachers. They get three tries. If they fail the second try, the committee basically gives the student a walk through of the presentation just to help them pass, so DS thought he'd end up having to get to that point, but he didn't! This is the same kid who majorly struggled with a learning disability in written expression most of his life and barely wrote at an elementary level in middle school.
I'm so proud of him.
