I just posted last week about my senior DS making the honor roll for the first time in his life -- and this is the kid whose principals said he'd be a dropout at 17.

Anyway, that's not the brag. This is: he passed his senior project on the first try!!! :woohoo:  :woohoo: I honestly didn't think he'd do it, but he DID! They start working on their senior research papers their sophomore year, and he wouldn't do it, but by junior year he finally kicked it into gear and turned it in. Then they have to do a 20 minute presentation of their subject in front of a committee of teachers. They get three tries. If they fail the second try, the committee basically gives the student a walk through of the presentation just to help them pass, so DS thought he'd end up having to get to that point, but he didn't! This is the same kid who majorly struggled with a learning disability in written expression most of his life and barely wrote at an elementary level in middle school.

I'm so proud of him. :lovestruc

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

agnes!

I'm so proud of him. :lovestruc
And you should be! I remember a lot of the challenges he has overcome in the last few years. You deserve a big pat on the back too and this :cool1: and :grouphug:. Congratulations to both of you!

That's the kind of mom brag that gives the parents of other kids with learning disabilities hope for their child's future...and the kind I never get tired of hearing about.

BRAG ON, MUSHY, BRAG ON!!!

Congrats to you and your DS! You have bragging rights, for sure!

That's awesome. Congratulations to your ds.

Keep bragging mom, your ds deserves it.

Congrats to you and to him. That is DEFINITELY worth bragging about!

Wow, holy smokes that is great. I can't even imagine the presentation part, how intimidating that would be to anyone let alone a high schooler. I would be super proud too, that is great. You have every right to brag. Congrats to your son, I hope you can do something great to celebrate.:worship:

CONGRATS!!!
Tell him to keep up the EXCELLENT work!!

Wow that is so great. I think you have reason to brag when you've watched your son just really kind of claw his way up. The only mom brags that bother me is the "gifted preschooler" kind. Your son, on the other hand has just really overcome. It's inspirational to me because I continue to watch my 10th grader struggle. I do think he's going to start Vo-Tech next year. I think he needs to get out of the classroom a little. Doesn't your son do Tech? Did you see a difference after he began that?

Pat him on the back for us...good job!

Congrats to your DS and be sure to celebrate his big accomplishment!!! :thumbsup2

As a Mom, it's a good feeling to know we must be doing something right! ;)

Yup. You definitely get to brag. Congrats!

How funny! I like that term. I have a friend who is an expert at the gifted preschool brag. It's obnoxious.
