Can you stamp album covers?

I have some Dalee albums, solid that I thought would look nice with a few stamps on the front. But of course I have never stamped and no nothing!
Can you stamp on them and if so what type of ink? I don' think you could emboss but wondered if any one tried it. I don't know how hot those heat guns actually get.
so any and all information would be great!

I think it was in the most recent Martha Stewart magazine.

They took what looked like the old fashioned stickers that went on suitcases with the names of locations, etc and printed them out (in reverse) on iron transfer paper. Then ironed them on the front of albums. The albums weren't named but they sure looked like the Dalee fabric or linen covers!

So if you could iron on, I don't know why you couldn't use a permanent ink and then heat set it. I'd probably try an iron though with a piece of paper in between than a heat gun....

I do know my LSS offers an embossing service for albums.

I bet there's a way. I have a friend that's a consultant with Close to my Heart. I just e-mailed her and asked. She had a workshop where they were stamping tiles...for the wall! I'm sure covers could be done. I'll let you know when I hear.

Spinning what about an iron on tranfer ? There are lots of cool embroidered patches.

A disney patch with the adhesive that you iron on would work.

I have been taking classes at my local stamp store. There are so many different kinds of inks. the most popular ones are pigment and dye inks and both are not waterproof. You would have to use something like a stazeon. I am not sure but I think ancient page might be waterproof. Although if you embossed them they would then become waterproof. My mind is still running on. I know there are fabric inks you can get but I haven't played with any of them as yet. I don't know how you could practice or test it to see if it would work. Although my stamp instructor says "there are no mistakes, just opportunities for creativity."

I'd suggest for simple try the iron on transfer paper with whatever logo, emblem, etc you like. Remember to print it in mirror so it is the right way on the book when you transfer it.

Hi, Spinning!

My friend is a Close to My Heart Consultant. She says that their album covers CAN be stamped on. She was going to ask around about some others. I'll keep you posted if I hear more.

I just found out that the Color Box inks have a fabric ink. It is called Fabrique. I am not sure the spelling but that is how it is pronounced. It comes in a multi colored box. The thing is I don't even know where to get it. I looked on the web to see if I could find a site for you but I didn't find anything. I will be on the look out for them as I have a baby on the way (grandchild) and I want to stamp some little T's and onesies.
