A mutual friend of my DVC traveling friends who is also a DVC member was divorced a couple of years ago. If we were to buy her DVC contract from her is there anyway to split the contract between us. Hope I'm not making this confusing. In other works could we buy 100 points of a 200 point contract and our friends buy the other 100?

No - not if it is one single 200 pt contract. Once Disney sells a contract the only way it could ever get split is thru Disney's ROFR - then Disney could sell the points as they wish again.

You can't "split" the contract, but you COULD buy it together and share it if you think that would work. Just be aware than anything that happens to your friend's financial situation, will also happen to you in the contract ownership.

As noted, no, unless it's split already. No way would I buy together with a friend, family member, coworker, neighbor, etc. At the most one should buy with a running agreement to rent points to the other based on fees plus. If that won't work, just move on and let your friend sell it on their own.

Unfortunately a DVC contract cannot be broken up into smaller point allotments. Whatever the deeded amount of points that were orginally contracted by Disney, is the amount that will have to be resold. :)
