I know the parks are outside but are you allowed to smoke? Dh is a smoker (I'm working on him!!!) & I can't imagine you can just light up anywhere. Seems like there would be butts all over! Is there a smoking section? If so can someone tell me where it is located at MK, EPCOT & MGM?
Thanks!

Unless things have changed in two years. There are designated smoking areas in all the parks
Not a smoker so can not coment on locations but were posted on park maps.

As soon as the park maps was mentioned I checked mine & sure enough, they are marked very clearly. TONS of smoking spots all over the parks! THANKS!

Yeah, but you will get those "rogue" guests who ignore every policy and will
smoke anywhere they want. And they have that look on their face that says" just tell me I can't smoke here" .
Sorry for venting but it felt good!! And
remember...I'm Happy2bGrumpy!!

One of my co-workers had a guest threaten to run her over with an ECV because the co-worker asked the guest to put out her cigarette or go to a smoking area.

I just find a CM when I notice someone smoking outside the designated area. DD13 is severely allergic to smoke (gives her a cough for days, closes up her throat, etc.) so I have no problem with being 'one of those people', as I have been called :p

I just ask the CM if the area I am in is a smoking area, and when they tell me 'no' I then point out the smoker. I also make sure to stay near by to thank the CM. (OK, and to make sure the smoker stops...) I did this once on our last trip, and twice I, myself, politely let people know they were in a nonsmoking area. It was so odd that these people were actually just a few yards away from the actual smoking area - I could see the signs! So, I just pointed out the areas to them. And no, I was not thanked, or given an apology, LOL, but no one gave me any trouble either.

Typical....many of them think they are entitled to spread their proven disease causing stinky nasty smoke to everyone. These rude people are not Disney material and should be escorted out IMHO.

....and I said "many" not "all" smokers so don't freak out on me and I used to smoke a pack a day for many years. It was such a relief to quit. I can't fathom the thought of actually wanting to smell like an ashtray now...I mean it's not a scent flying off the shelves in the perfume counters.

DH is a smoker--sad but true--but I have to admit he is probably one of the most considerate smokers I've ever been around. He NEVER smokes in a non smoking area of a restaurant and when we are on the beach he'll put the cigarette butts out in one spot in the sand. When we're ready to leave, he picks them up and puts them in the coke can or bottle he has and throws away. I've seen him keep the dead butts in the outside of his cig pack
while we were hiking in The Smokies so they aren't littered all over the trails.

There are many smoking areas through the parks and are marked clearly on the guide map. I KNOW there is one across from Splash Mtn and Thunder Mtn Railroad by the lake. DH would wait for us here while we hit the souvenier shops. There's also one near ToonTown, one not too far from Space Mtn and several other areas. Animal Kingdom has several too. There's a smoking area near the "entrance" to area where you go back to RNRC at MGM. It's behind the ice cream shop and has lots of benches. These are the ones I remember the most.
