DD9 and I have everything we need to start our countdown calender, except we do not know what to make it look like!
can you please show us what yuors looks like?

** we will be using stickers, little " sayings" and making mickey heads on our days, if you have something like that to show it would be awesome!

We just finished a paper chain that we tear down a link every night. The kids decorated each link with stickers and I numbered them. My kids (5 & 2) love doing this since it's so visual.

I am trying to think of something to use with my dd4 and ds2 Never thought about making a chain link to do the countdown. Great idea. :thumbsup2

I don't have a picture but we did Mickey and Minnie heads out of black construction paper. I was going to do rings but I thought it would be too hard for DD to rip. So I drew (very poorly I might add) Mickey heads, cut them out, cut little bows for the Minnies out of red construction paper and then taped them in rows of 7 - We started with Mickey, then Minnie, then Mickey and so on and so fourth. It's cute and she loves to take them off each night. :) HTH. I'm going to try and get a photo of it tomorrow.

Check out this thread from the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies board. A wonderful DISer made several countdown calendars with different characters and shared them with everyone! I printed the Christmas one for DD 8 and the Toy Story one for DS 9. They look great!

My husband and I were discussing this last night. We came up with the idea of making a lollipop string (my kids love the dum dum pops).
How many licks does it take to get to Disney?? Don't know, but it will take them 79 lollipops to do the countdown.

Target has dry erase boards in their dollar section - Camp Rock, HSM, Cars & two princess versions. I got one for each kid so they can do their own count down.

dont have a pic of it...but i have a Creative memories Disney punch, punched out different color mickey circles, and let the kids glue them on each day. It was beautiful and fun to keep up!

We did ours a 100 this year. But I would not recommend that since our paper chain is really long and I think it's driving my daughter crazy that the trip is so far away. In past years, we've done 50 days and that was a fun length.

We have a Christmas dish filled with Hershey Holiday Bells for our countdown. Started it on...Friday, 36 days out from our vacation. I know I have a pic...I'll have to get it uploaded.

Here was ours:

then we used foam star stickers to cover the numbers:

This is ours. I used a small piece of foam board, some Princess shelf paper that I found at the dollar store, stickers and a pack of Post-It notes. We started at 50 days. I can't believe how quickly the time has gone. I really, really need to start packing!!

Oops! I need to have more posts before I can post a picture. I'll work on that and come back and post a picture.
