We are taking or DD 7 and 6 to the World in February. The youngest doesn't eat a lot, ever! So normally she eats off of my plate or she splits a meal with her sister. Has anyone had any luck doing this in Disney World. Right now we are scheduled for Garden Grill Lunch (I know I'll have to pay for her here anyway), The Plaza, Tony's, Whispering Canyon Cafe and Lunch at BOG. I know when we eat QSR they can share easily there, so I guess my question is for the table service restaurants.

Yes. My sister-in-law and I have shared TS meals before. Le Cellier was very kind to us and let us both have our own bowl of that yummy Cheddar Cheese soup!

Or like Crystal Palace, my niece was unwell but it was a birthday celebration so she came with us. Literally drank Water
They debited the dining plan for her despite us mentioning it ahead of time and staff clearly seeing a kid that literally ate/shared nothing. And I mean Nothing!
Personally I would have went to management, Atleast to discuss it, but it wasn't my dining plan/gathering.
IMHO, it was wrong... She simply sat there, actually nodded off on the bench poor thing. And she is not a child but an older teen. We were a Large group and she sat opposite me at last end seat. No excuses, staff actually asked how she was.

That's totally standard for all buffets, especially character meals where there is entertainment. If she was that sick she should have stayed behind - sounds like she was miserable.

They charge all kids - special needs, tube fed, sick and not eating, adults who have had WLS.

I just want to warn that if two people share a meal that while the entrée is usually cut in two, the sides are usually full portions. So both parties will have plenty to eat.

This. Unfortunately there's no getting around it - imagine how it would snowball if they started making exceptions.

Disnut8.....
I hear ya, she was miserable but wanted to be a trooper...
( my amazing bro/sil threw a sweet 16 n brought/flew 17 to Disney/ddp/AKL Savannah rooms/hoppers for 5 days!) She just wanted to be their for her little sis. Her parents didn't stress it ( being food debited, not the sick part lol)
It was me that felt like a little pixie dust woulda been appreciated.
No biggie...

No ne monitors consumption at a buffet. One bite one sip doesn't matter. Butt in seat equals charge. She did see characters so only fair to charge her for the meal. Glad the parents understood this :)

My child for some reason chose not to eat one bite at Garden Grill....nope not even one. We were , as we expected to be, charged. Many places we did share that trip. DS was 4 and we were on the DDP. He wanted ADULT food, not kid menu food, so he and I shared. We ended up not using a few child TS credits but so be it. No issue anywhere and they did give us more than a typical one person serving most places. We shared CS too , but it was easy to use his credits as we also had a teen boy that could always eat more!

This is generally only true of restaurants that charge a split plate fee. Elsewhere they'll just divide the portion in two.

My 9 year old DS doesn't eat much, and surprisingly my 13 year old DS doesn't eat much yet either. He's getting better. I think we are planning to let them split a kids meal. There may be times they'll each order their own, but really they eat like birds. I think my husband and I are going to split entrees a few times too.

wow Kristie, 2 boys splitting one kid meal? they are light eaters! just wait, I bet it catches up one day and they turn into the horde :-p

Not at Disney World. Husband and I shared a burger at Sci-Fi and each got half of the burger and we thought we'd get half the fries. Nope - the entire plate was covered in fries. We've also seen other parties split a meal and have the plate filled with the side.
