Can you send DCL extra $$ to use as onboard credit?

I like to have as much paid for in advance as possible - hotels, flights, cruise, towncar transfers, etc.

I was wondering if you can send money to DCL to be applied as an onboard credit, so you can be 'money ahead' when you get there. We spent quite a bit last year on pictures, pins, etc. etc. It would be nice to know that we have a credit balance to start with! Anyone ever done this???

You CAN use Magical Treasures to purchase advance onboard credits, but you can't do it through your regular DCL reservation...they would just refund any overpayment.

If you want to pre-purchase shipboard credits for yourself (or for anyone else for that matter) just call 800-601-8455.

We've paid our on board credits ahead of time on our last 3 cruises. It keeps us on track from going over board. Plus, no big credit card bill when we get home. Our spending limit is $500. for a 7 night. We do go over a little, last year by $1.34.

If you do use the Magical Treasures and put a stateboard credit and you don't use it all can you get a refund? Am thinking about doing this also.

Somehow with all the changing of the reservations that I did I ended up with this as a final...

I put down more than I owed.....there is no mention of crediting me back so I am assuming that the balance will be in shipboard credit....then again you know what happens when one "assumes" LOL....

I have seen people on this board buy Disney dollars to use to pay for ship bill.Also Great b-day or xmas gifts to give the kids or friends going .

Last year, we spent $948.00 onboard, and this year we will have a $200.00 credit as soon as w get on. So, I figure if I can send them an additional $800.00, we will have all our needs prepaid!! It would just be nice to have it out of the way so when we are cruising, it's "already ours"!!

Can Magical Treasures handle that amount for me?

Aprilgail2 I would get on the phone with DCL or my TA, if you over paid they you are entitled to a cash refund from DCL. You may apply any refund to your onboard credits.

Mjasp if your onboard account is not tapped out, then yes Magical Treasures will credit or refund you for any unspent amount.

Disney Dollars are great for the parks more so than onboard the ship. From what I have been told they only accept DD for your final payment. Your Key to your stateroom is accepted for your spending power on the ship. Please someone correct me if I am wrong, it's being a few month since I have cruised and I know things change all the time.
Anyone can call Magical Treasures to purchase onboard credits for freinds and family cruising. The least amount is $25. and go up.

I have been buying 50.00 worth of disney dollars a month at the disney store. I was told you can pay your bill at Guest Services daily with the disney dollars. Also you cannot "dip" into the disney dollars for groceries or any other "emergencies" that come up at home. I figured by time we go on our cruise in November, we will have a nice amount to spend.
