That's just stupid. :guilty: Sorry there is no polite way to say this and I really don't care what comments I get from you or others. "looked rich" - are you serious? Let me tell you, we are no way rich (comfortable yes - rich no )but we always get a few new outfits for our Disney trips - so explain what looking rich looks like - please :confused3

If you did not pay for them and Disney is not selling them - who are you to turn a profit :furious:

As far as the people looking strange when reciding them. Those people are probably just shocked because the last idiot (not previous poster) just sold them some FP's or they have probably been riding in the standby line all day and was shocked to get these passes to ride without waiting. We always give them away, sometimes I will stand there for 10 minutes(DH yelling let's go) trying to find groups for the exact number of FP's that we have or I will just leave them on the top of the FP machine if I can't find anyone.

For anyone who is selling them just grow up.

Rant over.

Nice rant :lmao:

One more reply, and then I'm thru with this thread.

When I made the original post, here's the things that were (and weren't) on my mind:

1) Reading the UG, I noted that touring plans for both AK and Epcot call for families to send one member of their group to one side of the park (to acquire FPs), while the rest of the group goes to the other side of the park. The parties will catch up with each other later. While I see the logic in that strategy, I really don't like the idea of leaving my DW with the chore of guiding DD7 and DS4 thru an unfamiliar theme park among hordes of people without my help. (Or vice versa).

2) I read the UG's section on stroller rentals, which discusses a thriving "brown market," where people sell their rented strollers at a discount, rather than return them.

3) In the back of my mind was a thread from a few days ago about Mountain Dew, and the story of one guy saying someone offered him $20 for his contraband Pepsi.

Well, I put these notions together and I came up with the idea of buying/selling Fastpasses. This would alleviate the need to split our party and dash from one end of the park to the other, as prescribed in the UG. Besides that, imagine being able to walk into the theme park with FPs to several of your favorite rides already in hand. Could make planning easier. Personally, I'd be willing to pay a few bucks for such a service. And I figured other people might, too.

What I didn't know was that there is already a well-established method of getting rid of extra FPs: Giving them away. While technically against the rules, this is obviously a well-established tradition. Had I been to WDW recently, I probably would have already known this, but as my last visit was 9 years ago, before the days of FPs, I don't know how I could have known this information.

So, fellow DISers, rest-assured: I will not be selling any FPs. Taking a wealth of good suggestions, I will kindly give away any extra FPs that end up in my possession.

But also know that I am not a troll, nor am I "just a kid." I am but a humble dad eager to take his kids on a trip to WDW.

Since many of you are obviously interested in ways to spread "pixie dust," I will close with my own suggestion: Be considerate about the way you respond to people on the Internet. I know you can't see my face, and it's hard to judge true intent, but consider offering the benefit of the doubt. "What goes around comes around" is an idea that applies to more than just how you get rid of extra FPs.

Had you posted in the above fashion in the first place you know the responses would have had a different tone as well. People posted based on the information given as well as the manner and tone it was presented.

Asking people if it is ok to sell something you got for free is very different then asking for advice on the best way to get fp's without separating from your family and how to maximize your touring time or park hopping time.

As far a the stroller issue, although I always just give mine away I see that as a way to split the cost of something you paid for. In other words giving both parties a discount rather than charging someone for something you got for free.

I would also like to say that I will take your advice to heart and be more considerate of my responses. In kind perhaps you would consider that how you start a thread or pose a question does influence the responses you get.

Happy trip planning!

Plus...I think the pixie dusters would have been good just to say...

"Sorry Max, Disney doesnt allow this activity"

Instead everybody piled on you. Very nice hospitality.

It's true. The more I read this thread, the more I just feel like a nerd. Im part of this Dis community here. I love it! I've been here for a while, so I think I at least have the right to say this, and hope everyone knows it's not a personal attack.

Really, just read these posts. I think it makes us all look like a bunch of nerds. Just read it! It's like we're star trek nerds but only with Disney! Im a Disney NUT! Im crazy about it and, to everyone else, I do sound like a nerd but, honestly, how is anyone here acting like they are so perfect?

I personally would NEVER sell a FP, but that's just me. I'd be too embarassed to do it. However, if the guy wants to, and does, hey, more power to him.

I just can't stand seeing someone say they'd report it. cmon people. First off, what do you care? If you dont want to buy one, just say no, move on, get a chuckle about it. People here need to lighten up a little.

First off, thought it says not for resale, I can pretty much assure you, nobody is going to waste alot of time, money and energy running down someon selling a FP. Now if they're selling 50 of them that's a different story.

I mean some people on here are "nerding out" over this whole thing (I can just see the glasses with broken frames, taped up, and snot running out of the nose :rotfl2: ).

All Im saying is, if my wife and I saw this happen, I'd probably make a joking jab at the guy, laugh about it, take a picture of him trying to sell it, to post on the Dis boards for laughs, but, I'd never get so upset about it.

Cmon people, we're talking Disney here! There's no reason anyone should be upset about it to the point where they're digusted (Im only talking about a few posts here, most are just making fun, and I love it!). I guess Im the type that would just find it amusing.

Why do I mention this? Because not too long ago (maybe a year, so, ok, long ago) someone posted about this (the same thing!) and someone said they'd punch the dude in the face. Ok, if you are such a nerd that you are talking about punching someone in the face for doing something like this, you most likely are only tough enough to punch your way out of a long soaked thin skinned paper sack.

Anyways, this is just a lighthearted post, so dont take it too seriously.

Snip ~~

Max, one more thing as this made me smile - really :)

I have to point out that as a mom of 2 dds I am sure that your DW handles your two children alone in many more difficult and stressful situations on a continuing basis. We take them to the supermarket, zoo, playground, even (unless I can help it) Chuck E Cheese et-al! Compared to some of the things we moms do with our kiddos alone AK even at is busiest is a breeze. I am sure your wife can manage AK or any WDW parks without you for a while.

So all I am trying to say is re-consider not separating, whether its for gathering FP's, rides everyone dosen't want to or can't ride or even different tastes in snacks or shows.

Hey, look at me everyone! I'm spreading pixie dust by joining the mob and reaming some poor soul for asking a question.
Max, since you are relatively new, I'll give you some tips to follow so in the future you don't upset those with a "Disneyier than thou" attitude":
1. First you need to sit on these boards 8 hours a day and discuss minutia about Disney.
2. Say “pixie dust” in your posts every once in a while.
3. Scream at some fool who asks about reusing mugs or might offend a handicapped person.
4. Add your goofy answer to the word snake.
5. Finally, these boards aren’t for new people to ask questions. They’re for veterans to shriek at people like you.
Hope that helps. Have a pixie trip!

To someone, NOT standing in a standbyline for said ride, and I guess they thought I was  So, if I don't use a Fastpass I just bring it back home with me. :confused3 SO, here is a TIP: If you have a fastpass for say, Soarin' and you are NEAR the Standbyline, hold it up with your left or right hand and say: HEY I HAVE A SINGLE RIDER FASTPASS FOR THIS RIDE IN (whatever minutes/time etc) FIRST PERSON THAT TAKES IT OUT OF MY HAND ITS YOURS!! And I just thought of this, while looking at the FP thats on my desk now for Soarin' on 8/13/06. :rolleyes1

Suppose you're leaving a park for the day ... hopping, going back to the hotel, etc.

Any reason you couldn't grab a few Fastpasses on your way to the exit, and sell them to people on their way in?

I've heard of people doing something similar with strollers .... wondering if it could work with Fastpasses. Are there any rules regarding this?

I am just utterly stunned by this post. :sad2:

We *witnessed* a woman buying FP's from some guy selling them in front of EE a couple of weeks ago. A CM saw it too and got a manager who confonted the man with Security. They found the woman in the FP line, made the guy give her the money back, and he was escorted out of the park. (While people clapped who watched the nonsense going on!!) The woman was given comp FPs even tho she was in the wrong as well. (IMHO)

:woohoo:
:thumbsup2
:teeth:

Yeaaaah I'd just give them to someone or leave them somewhere that someone would be able to see and pick them up at.

Oh and I just have to add:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Geez, talk about stepping in it. This tread has been very entertaining to read. Max if all you said is true I do hope you don't get scared off. There are many others that don't take all this so seriously. You'd think they all owned Disney stock or something. I've had situations where I've sold tickets (individual day-long time ago) that I wasn't going to use at half what I paid (works out for both of us), and I've given away things too (balloons we didn't want to carry all the way home, pins, fastpasses ;) , etc.). Oh, and pixie dust. Just in case.

I couldn't agree more. If someone tried to sell them to me I would laugh in there face. I would rather wait or not ride the ride but I am not paying for something like that, that they got for free. WTH????? Are people not nice to eachother just for the sake of being nice anymore????

Wow. Regarding the post above mine (in the quote area).

I simply dont understand what some of you people get so worked up over. I mean seriously, some of you need to learn to turn that anger into a chuckle. Personally if someone came up to me to try to sell me a FP, I'd laugh and get a kick out of it.

You act as if someone is forcing them to buy it. If someone buys it, then the deal was good for both, or else the buyer wouldnt have bought!

About the person who said that if Disney doesn't sell it, neither shoud you. Hello? Have you been around Orlando and seen all of the companies making money off of Disney's name and not paying a penny for it?

All I'm saying is, chill out. Some of you take this stuff way too serious. I personally would give my FP away but, if someone thinks it's worth money to pay for it, let em go for it!

Personally it would kill some of the magic for me to have people "scapling" fast passses in front of the rides. But that will be up to Disney to put an end to it and I hope they do. I am sorry if some posters think I should chill out. YOu gave your thoughts on that matter and thats all I am doing.
