Can you see a problem with this?

We have booked a package through WDW UK for 15 nights at SSR which includes free DDP. Now we will be on DCL for 4 of those nights (in the middle of the stay).

It was much cheaper for us to book a 15 night package rather than a 4 night and a 7 night package as we wouldn't have got the free DDP and would have had to buy two sets of park tickets (this is how the UK free DDP packages work).

I intend to let the front desk at SSR know that we won't be using the room for these 4 nights - I assume this is not a problem as we have paid for the room and will be on DCL not off site (if you knwo what I mean).

My question is, will this affect our dining credits? I am assuming not and if this is the case, it means that we can do a couple more signature restaurants using the extra credits.

Any thoughts?

I see no problem with this at all. I have actually done this myself (not the exact same circumstances but due to changes in plans we actually stayed off site while we had free dining in Sept. We used the dining credits but not the room.) and had no problem at all. That is unless there's some difference with the UK dining credits than the regular dining credits which I don't think there is. :goodvibes

Well, it really should not be any type of problem at all.

Can you leave some luggage and belongings in the room while you're on the cruise, to make sure it appears occupied? I realize this seems like an entirely different issue, but since you're paying for your room (vs. using points) you will get Housekeeping every day - and if the unit looks truly unoccupied for several consecutive days and there's a breakdown in communication, you may run into a problem when you get back from the cruise.

All I did was leave a note in the room that we would be returning to the room on _______ day. I did not have a problem at all.

How did you get the free DDP?

I've booked through WDW UK as well, but got the 4 nights free (book 14 pay for 10). The DDP was not free.

We'll be going on the three night cruise in the middle of our stay as well and will hopefully use the extra dining credits for a dinner show or signature restaurant.
Also we can spread out the CS credits over the days that we are actually there and have most of our meals covered.

I see no reason that it would affect your dining credits. They're pooled together for the entire booking, not parceled out per day, so you can use as few or as many as you like on any given day over the course of your booked stay.

This was an offer that expired at the beginning of December. You had to buy a package that also included tickets and they included the free DDP - we also got a great deal on SSR as they were offering this with a 42% discount!

Thanks to everyone else - you have basically told me what I thought but it never hurts to check with other Disers:) :) :)

As well as mentioning our absence to Front Desk I will also put a note in a prominent position in the villa.

I can now start to go into full planning mode and decide where to spend those extra credits:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
