Can you rent transferred points?

We bought some points from another member that were transferred into our account. There were supposed to be used for an upcoming vacation that we are no longer planning on taking. No reservations have been made with these points, but I was wondering if I can rent them? I am not sure how that works, if they become mine once they are transferred or if they are not considered mine.

Does anyone know?

Points are in your account and you can do just about anything with them except transfer them to another owner. You can also bank points that were transferred into your account. Transferred points don't normally show up on-line, so you need to call MS to use them.

Now that you are the owner of the points, yes, you can make any reservation with them for any guest you choose.

You can rent via your using the points to make a reservation in someone else's name. You can try doing that on your own such as via the rent/trade board but you need to do some homework first to see how it is done, including determining what kind of contract to use. Alternatively, you can try doing it through a rental broker who charges for the service by taking some of the rental money off the top, such as David's (see dvcrequest.com), which is a sponsor of these sites. What you cannot do with transferred points is "rent" them by actually transferring them to someone else.
