Can you remind me age limits for riding alone?

Hi,

We are going on a big family trip in a few weeks. I'm trying to remember the rules about how old you have to be to both ride a ride alone and with a younger child. For example- will my 13 year old be able to ride something like Peter Pan alone with my 6 year old niece?

Also, how old do you have to be to enter the park alone? I don't think this will happen on this trip, but a few weeks ago at Universal we let two 15 year olds and two 13 year olds go into the park alone for some rides while the adults had dinner. I remember when I was around 14 my parents let me ride the monorail from CR to MK with a friend but don't know what the rule is now.

Thank you!

A child must be at least 7 years old to enter an attraction alone. Children under 7 must be accompanied by someone age 14 or older. So a 13 year old is not old enough to accompany a 6 year old, according to Disney.

Children must be at least 14 to enter a park alone. Under 14 can enter if accompanied by someone who is 14 or older.

You are so fast- thank you so much! I didn't want to hold up any lines while we tried to figure out who was riding with each other!

Someone just posted updated rules in another forum: It's changed and 7-13 needs someone 14+ with them now.

"Please supervise your children at all times. Guests under age 14 must be accompanied by a Guest age 14 or older to enter the Park. To board an attraction, children under age 7 must be accompanied by a person age 14 years or older."
"Access to attractions depends upon the safety rules for each attraction."

The 2nd quoted phrase above refers to such rules as height requirements, which may differ by attraction.

Thanks- we will have one old enough to accompany the others on the rides so that is good to know. And my oldest and second oldest could enter the park together although I can't imagine a time we'll be doing that on this trip.

The park-entering rule is nothing new.

The second bit probably is new, and is probably because some people had too-short 7 year olds who were send into the lines on their own. Forgetting that you also have to be tall enough for the attraction. (more of an issue at Universal where you must be at least 48" to ride alone *but ALSO* tall enough for the attraction)

Under 14 needs someone 14 or older with them to enter the park. That isn't new. 7-13 doesn't need someone with them for an attraction. I don't see what has changed.

0-13 needs someone 14 or older with them to enter the park (just the entrance gates).
7-13 can enter attractions alone (within the park).
0-6 cannot enter attractions unless they are with somebody 14 or older.

None of that has changed for awhile.

They want it to be realized that even if a child reaches 7 years old and is old enough to enter attractions alone, if the attraction has a height limit and the 7 year old is too short, they can't ride.
