Can you recommend Straightening irons?

Hi, I'm from the UK & will be visiting WDW in October - the problem I have is that I can't live without my straightening irons & they don't work in the US!! I've enquired about adapters/converters & they work out more expensive than buying US irons so.... Is there anyone out there who has ceramic straightening irons (these are the ones that heat up really quickly & are VERY hot) or can anyone recommend a particular make? I've seen quite a few on eBay but don't know where to start.

I have a Babyliss and it's fantastic!!! It has lasted me well over 3 years so far. Solano's are also very good. Here is where I get all my stuff:

Of course, you do realize that with the heat and high level of humidity in Orlando most times that there's a good chance that nature will undo all that straightening you do in the morning.

You obviously haven't used the ceramic irons! They actually "seal" the cuticle - thus preventing the usual frizzbomb experienced with damp British weather &, I'm sure, humid Florida weather. For a moment there I thought my dh had paid you to post that reply!!(lol)

Lol, no. I just know that with a DD with very curly hair anything we try to do to it to make it managable just doesn't work out. We've pretty much given up and just put it back in a pony in Disney - easy to take care of and it can get as curly as it wants that way.

I have curly hair, too, and when we go to WDW I usually just leave the straightening iron and round brush & blowdryer at home. I usually just opt for a ponytail and baseball cap (disney of course! ). I've never tried a ceramic iron...might have to look into that!
