Staying at BC Nov 6-11 and I read on the boards that people walk to Epcot, MGM, and Boardwalk, is this true? How long of a walk is it? Can you walk to epcot to take monorail to MK or is Bus better? Thanks for your help.

BC is a very short walk to EPCOT, you enter in the WS entrance. Take the bus to MK it's a long walk through EPCOT to get the monorail. The walk to MGM is maybe a mile.

The bus is much faster to the MK than walking through Epcot :). Walking to Epcot is very fast. Going to/from MGM is a toss-up between walking and the boat.

Funny story... In May of 1998 ME and DH stayed at the BWV. One day we decided to walk through Epcot first thing in the morning to take the monorail to the MK (OK, we were young, energetic and stupid). Upon arrival at the MK our annual passes did not work. We had to go to guest services, and they asked us if we had passed through the International Gateway about 25 minutes prior! GS told us that any pass used for entry in more than 1 park in a 1 hour period triggers the computer and the pass will have to be re-validated.
BTW, GS told us we must have hauled but through Epcot to make t from the IG to MK in 25 minutes!

Epcot and the Boardwalk are no problem from BC. The MGM walk I cannot comment on because I do not believe the walking path to MGM was in place when I was down there last.

I would probably take the boat, or drive on over. We drove from YC and had no problems getting back out after Fantasmic.

Probably got lucky in that instance, however. We hit the lot trams at just the right moment as one was loading when we arrived at MGM's entrance.

If I remember correctly (from this past June 2002).

Boat to EPCOT stops first at Swan/Dolphin, then Yatch/Beach Club,
then Boardwalk, then EPCOT.
Boat back from EPCOT stops first at Boardwalk, then Yatch/Beach Club,
then Swan/Dolphin.

So - for your way to EPCOT walk if it's nice weather. You will be in the
World Showcase in 15 minutes or less. They will let you in and 'usher' you
to the other side of EPCOT.
For you way back, take the boat and rest your weary feet.

Boat to MGM stops first at Boardwalk, then Yatch/Beach Club, then
Swan/Dolphin, then MGM.
Boat back from MGM stops first at Swan/Dolphin, then Yatch/Beach Club,
then Boardwalk.

Take the BOAT for MGM - TOOOO far to walk, yicky in rainy weather,
hot and yucky in warm weather. Enjoy a boat ride.

For DTD, MK, AK or a water park - take a BUS.
They run every 15 minutes - sometimes every 5 minutes in the morning.

Ask at Guest Services about transportation. They are extreamly helpful.
Also there are town cars always available to take you out and around
Walt Disney World and other sites for a price (ask first).

I hope the above helps

We stayed at BWI in January which is about the same distance as BC. The walk to Epcot was about 5 minutes ( to the WS Gate). The walk to MGM took 15-20 minutes which is faster than the boats unless you hit them just right and don't have to wait. That was one of the reasons we chose BWI because we could walk to two parks!

We just returned from YC. We walked to epcot a few times,
I couldn't believe how short the walk was. We thought it was
better to walk than take the boat ride. We saved time that way.
The walk was actually enjoyable.

Like Phillybeth we walk to Epcot from BC and take the monorail to the MK. For us it is much quicker than taking a bus from BC to MK. We were AP holders at the time and the one park within one hour thing happened to us alot----we just told the CM at the gate that we had just been thru epcot so as to get the monorail to the MK so they would just let us in.

Walk to Epcot
walk to MGM
walk to epcot--catch monorail to TC --monorail to MK
You'll need to bus to AK and water parks.

transportation from the Boardwalk resorts to the parks is so easy!!!!!!

Like others have said, the walk to MGM is quite a bit farther from the BC than Epcot. We prefer to take the boat, even though it is a little slower, and save our energy for the parks.;)
