Can you really call it a solo trip if you have plans with 8 million DISers?-thoughts

I just have a few afterthoughts I wanted to share.

I wore a pedometer throughout my trip. I was curious to see how many miles I would walk in a week at Walt Disney World. Well, I walked just over 82 miles from the moment I got off the plane until I got on Magical Express back to the airport! It is probably actually a bit lower than that, as the rides do add steps to the pedometer, but I would have to guess it was pretty close to 80 miles--and my pedometer is very accurate.

I noticed that the bathrooms seemed to be a bit grungier than I ever recall them being in the past. They just didn't seem to keep them clean. More than once, I encountered bathrooms that were so disgusting that I almost wanted to walk out of them. I also noticed that the caulking along the sinks in many of the bathrooms were graying, and had slices in it. It just looked bad.

I enjoyed my second stay in my DVC home resort, the Boardwalk Villas. The rooms are extremely nice, and I found the staff there to be extremely helpful. They really do a great job of keeping the grounds at this resort neat and clean, especially the Boardwalk itself. And the fact that Jellyrolls is right there is a big plus. ;)

This trip really made me realize just how blessed I am to have so many wonderful people in my life. I got to spend a lot of time with my DIS friends, and we sure had a lot of laughs, and a lot of fun. I am lucky to have such wonderful friends here on the DIS. I also am very blessed to know so many wonderful people at Jellyrolls--especially Scotty (and his family), and Ray. So many people added to my enjoyment of this trip, and I'm looking forward to meeting up with all of them again real soon!

Thanks for reading :)

80 miles! Holy guacamole!

Glad you had a nice trip, Karen. I enjoyed reading your trip reports. It is freezing back here, I agree. But FL will always be there for our quick escapes!

Karen.....thanks so much for taking the time to do such an awesome trip report.....makes me anxious for my vacation in April....
Thanks for the reviews of the parks, the food, all the wonderful people you got to meet and especially the bathrooms......WHICH I TOTALLY agree.
thanks again

Thanks Karen for another great trip report. We were in the world at the same time. It sure was great to get out of the cold cold weather her in Michigan for 10 days.

It was fun wasn't it Karen!!? I can't wait to go back. George just told me there is a possibility we could be going to YC/BC over Feb vacation, but he won't know for sure for a week or so. Here's hoping. And then there's Dec 8, '06 to lok forward to.
You know, after walking myself silly on Sunday night (from bus at Epcot, through Epcot, to MGM via the pathway past BW, checking out Osbourne lights) I think I should have just stayed at BW with you guys at Jellyrolls. It would have been a really fun way to end my stay. If we end of having to move around next year, lets do it together and split the cost....that would have been fun.
Thanks to all of you who made this trip such fun...it was wonderful tagging along with Karen, and meeting all you guys. Thanks for the great trip report Karen. I had already forgotten a lot of stuff that happened. I guess that's why I don't post trip reports!!!

Thanks, Karen, for another great trip report. You are my favorite trip report writer----your reports are so detailed! Reading your report made me even more eager for my September stay at BWI. And I will definitely be getting a pedometer.

Thanks for writing this report. I didn't get to spend nearly enough time with you and Diane (and so many others) so reading your trip reports allowed me to visualize what I missed. Sometimes I really miss my solo trips, but it was fun getting Phil back there, plus taking my best friend, her DH and DD to the World was really magical.

Looking forward to doing the solo thing Dec. 8, 2006!!!! :teeth:

Thanks for another great report. It was wonderful meeting you and the other disers. After reading your reports, I think I'd be able to try a solo trip. My calendar's marked for next Dec.
Keep in touch. We'll have to have a MA dismeet sometime.

I can only echo what everyone else has already said, Karen.

Thanks for writing such an entertaining report, and thanks for all the work you put into setting up the meets. It was great to see you and I had such a great time hanging out with you and all the other Disers...some old friends and some new. It really makes you realize the power of the Dis. :goodvibes

Hopefully, see you all next year...if not sooner! :grouphug:

Some of those bathrooms - ugh! I was really shocked by the one next to the COP. It was so bad I went to the nearest vendor and asked them to call someone.
Great trip report!

Great trip report!
By far the worst one was the one by the American Pavillion on Sat, the 3rd. I can't go into it in any depth here, but suffice to say that it looked like someone 'fingerpainted' to the nth degree in one area. Never have I seen such a thing.
But I also did notice the bathroom areas were less than sparkling in a lot of cases. Well, except for the one that Karen found...that one really did sparkle didn't it Karen??!! :wizard: But others certainly did not meet my previous expectations. I don't think the CMs can keep up with the kind of behaviour I was seeing. People need to take some responsibility.

I forgot about that. LOL.

One day, Diane and I went into a rest room at the Magic Kingdom. Someone must have done a really good job in there because there was Mickey head confetti all over the place (particualarly in the stall I happened to chose). Someone must have been very proud of their accomplishment!

I'm glad everyone enjoyed my trip report :)

Confetti! Well that is funny! :rotfl2:

I really enjoyed reading your trip reports. Would love to make the 2006 trip.
