Can you please help me validate my thoughts on using my DVC points so that I don't make the same mistake using, borrowing, or banking?
EDITED to show what I learned from everyone's help and patience is listed in this quote so that you won't have to read everything and be confused my many questions and typos.
My use year is September, and last January, I borrowed my points. So now, my DVC Summary shows no points available today, October 2011. Okay, I understand that.
I always travel to WDW in December, and I use my DVC points for December, and make my DVC reservations at 11 months in advance for a DVC standard studio.
A couple of years ago, I made a mistake when I made an 11 month reservation, and their was no availability for my request. Really! I even tried to place a request, and hope to get a reservation later. But it never happened. So I banked my DVC points.
I did not want to stay one night and transfer back and forth to another resort. It looked like one night at one resort and transfer four times.
So I banked my points.
From my recollection, I was using my points that I received in my September 2009 Use Year, and I had to wait until January 2009 to make my 11 month reservation for the following December 2009 vacation at my home resort for a November 29, 2009 arrival.
My thought was that I could use them for my next December annual vacation. Wrong assumption on my part.
I had to use them by the end of August before my December vacation, or I would lose my banked points.
I really had not had this happen to me before because I had never banked points before.
This is where I start to confuse myself a little bit.
So last year, I used my points that I received in September 2010 and waited until late January 2011 to make my annual December vacation DVC reservation for arrival for December 6, 2011.
I also made the decision to borrow points so that I would never have the problem of losing banked points because I always travel in December.
This was also my first time to borrow DVC points. And I think that I borrowing like this so that I can have a longer DVC vacation every other year.
I apologize in advance if I am starting to confuse anyone so far.
I have almost forgotten my questions after writing all of this down from memory.
So I have a nice long December vacation planned this year.
Question One: Do I receive my DVC points every September for the next year?
(My answer is yes. I would receive DVC points in September 2012 and they would be called my 2013 September Use Year points...I think?)
Question Two: If it was September 2009, and I looked in my DVC Member Points Summary showing that I received my new allotment of points. It says it is for the next year of 2010. Could I have made reservations that September 1, 2009 through December 31, 2010?
(My answer is yes, because this is what I ususally do. And I think that I understand why. Of course, I would have to wait for the 11 month period of about January 2010 to make DVC reservations for December 2010.)
Question Three: If it was September 2009 and I looked in my DVC Member Points summary showing that I just received my new allotment of points. It says it is for the next year of 2010. What is the furtherest or last date that I could make reservations without banking those points? Is it December 31, 2010 or August 31, 2011?
Question Four: If it was September 2009 and I looked in my DVC Member Points summary showing that I just received my new allotment of points. It says it is for the next year of 2010. If I "banked" this points, would they have expired on August 31, 2011?
(My answer is yes...I think.)
Question Five: When this coming January, 2012 comes up, can I still borrow my points and make 11 month reservations for December 2012?
Question Six: If it was September 2012, and I looked in my DVC Member Points summary that I had my new allotment of points; could I also borrow DVC points and use them for my December 2013?
In summary, I think that I can Use my present Use Year DVC points, if any are available, and borrow the next Use Year DVC points and travel every other year using my DVC points.
And although I receive my DVC points in September, they are actually for the next year.
And Use Year points expire on August 31 of the next year instead of December 31st of the present Use Year...I think...I'm not so sure about this one.
My understanding is that I cannot use my DVC points every other year, if I bank my points, since my Use Year is September, and I travel every December.
Thanks in advance for any confirmations or answers as ywhen I call or email DVC Member Services, I get different answers.

Okay...I don't remember making five banking changes, but I think that the following is what my DVC Member Account pages says:
"Use Year September 2012-August 2013:" "ALL POINTS ALLOCATED"
"Use Year September 2011-August 2012:" "NO POINTS LEFT"
"02.10.2011 - Borrow points to use-year 09/10 from 09/11."
"Use Year September 2010-August 2011:" "NO POINTS LEFT"
"01.04.2011 - Bank points to use-year 09/11 from 09/10."
"04.25.2011 - Bank points from use-year 09/09 to 09/10."
"02.10.2011 - Borrow points from use-year 09/11 to 09/10."
"01.04.2011 - Bank points from use-year 09/10 to 09/11."
I am not making this up. This is what my account says.
So I guess that with my September 2012 Use Year has all their points allocated to use with the dates to make reservations will be from September 1, 2012 to August 31, 2013.
Next January, 2012, when I make my 11 month reservations for my home resort for December 2012, I will be all set to go to make reservations using my September 2012 Use Year has all their points.
Okay bear with me here, please.
If....
If I decide to bank these September 2012 Use Year points allocated to use with the dates from September 1, 2012 to August 31, 2013. Then they can be used as late as August 31, 2014. I think that means that I could use these same banked points for a December 2013 since they expire on August 31, 2014.
I think that I can get the rest of it.
In the year 2013, I can use my banked 2012 points and regular 2013 points to extend my vacation for about twice the length of time.
Thank you everyone for helping me with my really outrageous, ridiculously flawed questions with numerous typos.
Have I got that correct?
Thank you again, bumbershoot, Vicky_c, Disney Doc, Castleri, Chalee94, and Sammi. I hope that I got all of your names.
