Can you plan much in Disney app without a ticket purchased?

Sorry if this is wrong place for this; still trying to figure out where to post in these forums.

I’m used to the Universal app, where you can click on rides and stuff in the park and “favorite” them, even if you don’t currently have a park ticket purchased.

I can’t seem to find a way to do this in the Disney app. I don’t want to buy a ticket until I land in Orlando just in case my flight is delayed or canceled, etc. Am I missing something? What’s the best way to pre-plan in the app without a ticket or reservation?

May I ask what you would plan? We're going next week hopefully and I haven't really set anything up in the app. Wonder if I'm missing out on a step I should be doing?

We have tickets, park reservations and our ADRs made but not really using the app to plan anything else at this point.

I mainly wanted to click on each attraction (and restaurant) and read its description and then “star” it if it was something I was interested in doing. I just find it kind of odd that there’s no way to explore the parks on the app unless you have a ticket. It seems like they’re missing out on a feature that many other parks have on their app. Heck, even Six Flags lets you explore on their app beforehand. 🤷‍♀️

So glad I asked! You can do all of this except 'star' the attractions that interest you.

To do this:
1. open MDE app
2. click the upside down raindrop at the bottom of the screen - second icon over
3. Filter to each park (top left)
4. Click 'List' (top right)
5. All attractions will be listed. Click each one for information re: height, description of attraction, ages of interest, etc.
6. You may also change 'wait times' at the top of the screen to other options to get an idea of other things available in each park and get descriptions of them too

Hope this helps do everything but be able to mark them.

Omg! Thank you! That is exactly what I was looking for. For some reason I just did not see it the first time. All I saw was the wait times.

You are prepared to not get in the park on the off chance that all reservations are gone when you finally get your ticket purchased, right? I know it's a slim chance but it is a chance.

Yes, I am. I’m in Orlando for a work conference so Disney isn’t my primary focus. If I get to go for a day, it’ll be awesome, but if it doesn’t work out, I’ll find plenty of other ways to occupy myself 😁
If I was traveling with kids, I’d never roll the dice like that, haha!
