Can you pay while on DDP?

Can you combine ddp credits and pay OOP? Ex-me, DH order our meals, but DS would like something off the adult menu, rather than one of the kids meals-can we just pay for the meal he would like? Since the kids menu is so limited and repetitive, I know my son may want something else. Also, the LeCellier child's menu lists a steak for an additional $2.00, does this mean we can use the DDP and just pay the $2 so he can have a steak? TIA

Yes, to your LeCellier question...$2 is the up-charge for the kids steak...however, it is reported frequently that they do not usually even charge the up-charge.

To answer your question about ordering off adult menu for your son and just paying OOP...yes, you can do that...just let the waiter know what you are doing before you order (they need to ring the OOP order in separate). Sometimes if you tell the waiter that your child just does not like the choices, they will TRY to accommodate you by providing a child's size portion of an adult entree (then you could use the child's credit rather than paying OOP)...however, do not expect it...consider it a bonus if it is possible. Sometimes it is simply impossible to do so because there is no way to "portion-down" the entree...such as a pre-made burger, fish, steak, veal, etc.
