We have a party of about 9 and really it is three separate families. Can we split the bill when going to dinner? IF so what are the ways to do it? Should I ask before we order to split the bill?

Thanks!

I would just ask each waiter before everyone orders about splitting the ticket - if they aren't willing, you could always have someone get the entire thing and just pay that person back for each share. But I think more times than not, the waiter will be willing to split things for you if given advance notice. =)

Yes I would give the server advance notice. We usually are able to give them two credit cards and they split the bill between our cards. The only place that couldn't do it was Brown Derby. Not sure why, but after that, we notified the CM each time and this has usually saved us some hassle.

Definetly tell the server before hand. He can then ring them in seperately at the get-go. Which is easier to do than to trying to split it afterwards. When I worked in restaurants we had to find a manager to cancel the original ticket and then we had to reenter everything.

Definately tell your server you want three checks before you order.

They do need manager approval to get things settled/split if you wait until the end. Takes forever.
