Can you pay for dining plan with Disney gift cards?

We are planning a trip in June and we will be using the dining plan for 4 adults. I was hoping to buy disney gift cards at a discount and use them to pay for dining plan...will this work? It could be a number of cards since we will be there 5 nights.

Yes you can - they might have trouble over the phone taking multiple cards, but at the desk it should be no issues. Also, others have reported taking multiple cards to the Disney Store and getting them all on one card.

Note I have found you absolutely cannot combine gift cards at the Disney Store!

The dining plan must be added and paid for at least two days prior to your arrival. The front desk can not add a dining plan at check-in.

I used gift cards to pay over the phone but I was only using 4 x $50 worth of them. I had been told that they would only take 2, but that was not the case. You could probably space it out by adding one adult at a time to your reservation, thereby only needing to give 5-6 cards at a time. Just a thought since you aren't going until June.

I have done this, but, I did it using Scrip cards that we got through school. Scrip has $500 and $1000 denominations for gift cards, which made in convenient. Since the Scrip program was through our school, our "discount" was 5% or so of the cost applied as a tuition credit. Now, of course, if we bought through scrip, the "discount" would apply to the general tuition fund for other kids, since my son has graduated. But, I still do it as a donation to the school.

I have done this on my last 2 trips. I get my cards at Winn Dixie or Publix or Sams and then call a few weeks before our trip.

If you add a dining plan on-line, payment must be by a single credit card.
