???????????? I just read that I needed to use alkyd oil primer and a premium latex top coat but I just put one coat of acrylic Latex semi gloss paint - should I now put a primer over that before I apply a second coat?
what about that spray paint i've seen advertised that does plastic lawn furniture and things like that. I can't think of the brand but I'd consider buying this and testing the back to see if it would work.
mine are painted too. When we first bought the house, they were white (not sure if they came from the store that way or if the previous owners painted them white) we changed them to black and then a couple of years ago painted them blue. We used a regular house paint ~ I think it was latex. We have a lot of sun on the front of the house and they have held up well.
Two people in my neighborhood just painted theirs in the last month or so. We really need to do ours, too. They were burgundy, but 5 years of staring into the sun all day has faded them a lot & they look almost pink now. Yuck.
My friends just painted their plastic shutters (they were pumpkin orange). They used the spray paint that is for plastic. They painted them black and did have to use several coats. It's been a year now and they still look great!
