I was just looking at the room service menu and I don't see fresh fruit listed for any time of day. Has anyone ever been able to order a fruit plate from room service, especially for breakfast?? Thanks.

We just returned from the July 24 Magic. When you order from room service it is called a fruit bowl and contains an apple, orange, kiwi and fresh grapes. I got to know 1 particular server and tipped him $5 daily to bring berries or melon instead. He was incredible and on the last day we gave him a good bye tip also because he went out of his way to bring extras. Must say though that the apples and oranges and kiwis were amazingly good. Had pears a few times too but they were not ripe.

has anyone ordered something from room service that is NOT on the menu? I think I read of someone ordering Mickey bars...anything else we can order that the menu doesn't list?

Thanks!
Steph

That's good to know! I'm doing Weight Watchers so I've been looking over the menus to find things to eat that won't totally blow everything that I've worked really hard for.

Does anyone know if we can take things from the buffets to eat later on during the day?

on our cruise this past july whenever i called room service i asked for watermellon, cantelope and mango, and grapes. no problem. received an ample portion each time and enjoyed them very much.

Yes, you can get simple things that aren't on the room service menu. You can't get "cooked" or prepared sorts of things (unless you are in cat 1-3). They will try to meet simple requests, and do not charge for the food.

Unfortunately, the site that I know has a room service menu is one that we're not allowed to list on these boards as the site is owned by a TA. Sorry.

OH! Now I finally know why we can't post that site anymore! I have asked a couple of times and no one ever answered. Thanks for clearning that up. I had thought there was something wrong with the Dis Boards when those *** showed up in my posts when I tried to post that site.

I'm a WW too, and I can promise you that there is plenty of stuff for you to eat on the cruise! Loads of fresh fruits, great salads at every meal, and wonderful fresh seafood. Grilled chicken breast is always available, and you can ask your server to bring you a big plate of salad greens and then you can cut the chicken breast into strips over the greens.

Remember not to deprive yourself, though -- use those FlexPoints and enjoy! :Pinkbounc
