I got a Rival programable roaster oven for christmas but have never used it yet. I was wondering if corned beef with potatoes and cabbage would come out well in it. Does anyone have any experience with it? TIA

I've never tried it but I can't imagine it would be good. Corned beef needs a slow simmer and I would think your cabbage would dry out in the time it took to completely cook your corned beef. I would try a crock pot before an oven.

Good luck!

If you use your oven be sure to add water to the corned beef and seal it tightly with aluminum foil. It will need to simmer in the oven for several hours so don't add the vegtables until it is almost done. I am doing two corned beef briskets in my crock pot today. If its done, we will have one tonight, if not I am going to try the "brick thing" that someone described and we will have plenty for sandwiches later. I have a crock pot on high and it is simmering. I may lower it later but with two in there, high seemed appropriate.
