True, if we intended to rent in the first place. We don't, we're taking a TC.

By next March, the mechanics of this will be known. I think they'll check you in at a central desk and not bother to trace you to the bus for reasons I stated above. If I'm right, my luggage will ride the truck and I'll be with Tiffany. If I'm wrong, so be it. I'm not emotionally involved in this process, I'm looking to spend more time, and money, in WDW and less in transit. To that end I'll gladly break a Disney corporate rule.

You're right, time will tell. Tell your TC driver if you're going to be (pretending) to use ME. You don't want to have go to the other side of the airport to meet your TC driver, assuming your baggage claim is in the B side of the airport. Your driver will give you an alternate place to meet.

I think they'll be scanning some type of ticket. I'm not sure if they'll do it at central desk OR when you board your bus. If they scan when you board the bus then I doubt you'll save any time with a TC. I'm sure you could leave the bus after your ticket was scanned but there wouldn't be much point.

Wouldn't it also be an issue if you have, say 3 people in your group. Disney sends out 6 luggage tags based on each person being able to check two pieces of luggage. They already know who is 'supposed' to be flying in at any given time. So, how would it work if say...dad checks in with ME, and them mom and child go rent a car. They haven't actually checked in with ME. So, will their bags go to the resort? It's going to be really interesting to see how it all shakes out. I'm just glad I'm not going until mid-June. Plenty of time for things to be fine-tuned!!

You can reserve a one way return to the airport. You don't have to take the transport from the airport to get the free return.
