Can you hire a Disney character to visit your resort room?

I knew a meeting planner who worked with Disney a lot, and they told me that basically, if you're offering enough bucks, Disney will do anything you ask as long as it's not illegal.

I'm sure if a major celebrity wants Mickey to come tuck their kid in and will fork out enough cash, Mickey will be there.

This is what I was trying to say.:thumbsup2

I've seen posts where you can have a character come to your on property event for something like $1,500 per character for 20 minutes. With maybe less for more than 2. There are some rules such as if you have more than one character they have to fit together like you can't have Jack Sparrow and Cinderella. Also you need to also rent a space for the meeting.

If I remember correctly from the Disney Fairytale Weddings website (DF and I are planning on getting married through Disney!), I want to say it's like $1300/1400 for 1 character for 30 minutes, or $1700 for 2. I know there are some limitations on what characters, BUT they do offer a LOT of them, including harder to find characters. There was one bride who I know ended up with Lumiere showing up during...dinner! XD

Really though, considering that it's Disney, the prices are lower than I had expected for the characters.

I'm DYING to know what that cost - if that's not too rude to ask?? And, was it at a function (like, did you book a room/catering through Aulani, for the vow renewal reception, and added the characters as part of that function)? I.e., wondering if it was an add-on available when you are already booked/paying for an event/function.

It was $1800 and they were there for about 20-30 minutes. They took photos with us, all of our guests, and cut our cake. We did have an event at Aulani. We basically did a wedding package and rented out Ama Ama restaurant and both patios, floral, musicians, dinner, etc. So it was booked through Fairytale Weddings.

Thanks - very interesting! Our 20th anniversary is coming up so will keep this in mind.

I think there may be some confusion here.

Can you meet a character in your room? Sorry, no. (I'd request Captain Jack Sparrow so fast...whooo! *fans self*)

BUT! Through Disney Floral & Gift, you can order an in room celebration, where when you come back you find out either Mickey, Minnie, Tink, The Fairy Godmother, or Captain Jack has been there and left treats, depending on the celebration you order.

I hope that clarifies what you might have heard.

Is there a thread on here with more info about Disney Floral and Gift? Looked but couldn't find one!

not sure when this was last updated - so the prices could be wrong

back when WDW was in trouble late 90 early 2000's and again in 2007/8 - yes you could buy this as advertised (I think I remember this - but way to expensive for me) the characters in your room.

that say would do a character meal - way cheaper.
